Cargo Vanning in Sub-Zero Weather

Bill, how about doing some step by step instructions and pics of your espar installation for us less mechanically inclined. Your probably thinking screw that, but I thought it was at least worth asking.

That's a great idea. I'll try and do that. I have a great collection of tools and a brother to help. I'm going to drop the fuel tank and change out the fuel pump before it fails and add the Espar pump at the same time. Everything else looks like routine stuff. Cut some holes, run some pipe and install the wiring. I love doing this kind of stuff!

I will certainly be looking forward to seeing whatever you can post. I might just get brave enough and install one myself. That's a big MIGHT! Lol

Just to see what sitting in my new van is like I went drove it around until I was nice and toasty then parked like you would normal and sat for an hour. That empty shell of a ford van went from toasty to cold in about 2 minutes. Headed to lowes tomorrow and picking up some insulation and cheap carpet to hold it in

Curtains make a world of difference. Even in our straight truck we are talking a 20+ temp difference from the sleeper to the cab with the curtains drawn. They also are just a heavy upholstery fabric.

and a complete installation isn't that expensive compared to the complete unit....I was in at 7am and out by lunch around noon....so about 5 hrs by an experienced installer....

Reminds me of the Swift driver that wanted to shut it down in bad weather.
Dispatch told him to jump in behind a plow and ride.
The driver called in and told the dispatcher he was an idiot.
After two hours of following the plow he was STILL in the Walmart parking lot..
