Cargo Van Start up Question

Looking to startup in the next 2 weeks. I am prepared to buy an new 1 ton Chevy or GMC. Not sure who to go with. I want to be home at least 4 out of 7 nights (or days) a week. I am going to work hard but don't want to get stuck 600 hundred miles away from home all the time with no pay for deadhead coming back. I need to be able to gross at least 45,000k per year. Any recommendations who to look at for leasing to?
I have 2 companies in mind already but wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions. I live in the Detroit Area.

YA!!! Find another profession. I suggest you take about a week and read this forum. Research the archives and after you do that then come back to the forum and ask the questions that pertain to this profession.

Please Alan, don’t take this the wrong way, I mean no harm!!! It’s just that the questions you are asking don’t go along with this profession. It would be like me asking the question or making the statement that I want to play baseball but want to use a football. To put it in a better prospective I will reply with quotes line for line. >an new 1 ton Chevy or GMC.what are you going to do if you buy a new van and 3 to 6 months down the road you won’t like this profession? Used vans are a dime a dozen! And you’ll loose your butt. Maybe find a O/O looking to hire a driver, then if you like it buy a van. Not sure who to go with.Asking any company to hire a van isn’t who you want to go with, You should be asking – Who is putting on vans I want
>to be home at least 4 out of 7 nights (or days) a week. Most expedite companies have policies in place and contracts for drivers to be out at least 65% of the time. That is more like 3 to 4 weeks out and home for 2 days then back out again I

>deadhead coming back. It’s not about being stuck 600 miles away from home, that is what is known as expediting. You work hard as you put it for a company. They send you to make a delivery 600 miles away, you call them and wait there 1 day or 2 they find you a trip someplace else. You do this for about 3 or 4 weeks then you come home. Don’t have to deadhead home after every load. I need to be able to gross at least
>45,000k per year. Grossing $45K shouldn’t be a problem. You have bigger fish to fry Any recommendations who to look at for
>leasing to?There aren’t very many companies willing to hire a driver that wants to be home 4 days a week. And most companies aren’t hiring vans right about now, unless you are looking to go to an unknown, or with a courier company. GOOD LUCK!!!
