Canada Canadian sightings

I'm on a run from Mississauga Ontario to Woodbury Minn. While in Canada going to the shipper I spotted a cool bike on the highway.

While sitting at the shipper waiting to hear my paperwork was ok with ACE I saw a black squirrel. We only have gray squirrels at home. I don't recall ever seeing a black squirrel anywhere before.

I looked for a Smart car but didn't see any. I saw plenty of cars though. Traffic going out from Toronto was terrible even at 1900.

Going into Canada was nothing. I paid my $7 and crossed the Ambassador. Coming out at Sarnia it only cost me $6 for that bridge. It took about an hour to get to the window at customs and then I had to go to xray and that took about 2 hours. I asked the guy who gave me back my license why I was chosen and he VERY rudely told me he couldn't tell me that and even if he knew he wouldn't tell me. It's no wonder people are refusing to go to Canada.

What is it with that Sarnia Port? It seems every day XM is reporting 1 to 2 hour delays while Windsor is 20 min or less.

They must have a real problem.

PS. Leo I had one of those Smart cars pass me n the 401 doing about 120hph. Man if he ever rolled that thing it would never have stoped rolling.

Very cool... I understand the theory but wonder how it actually performs on the roads.

Bah, don't take it personally... his being rude and in a bad mood is his own problem. How we conduct ourselves and react to situations like this well within our control. I'll never let nonsense like this stand in the way of profitable runs.

Crossing at Port Huron (Sarnia) stinks. They spent all that money to build a second bridge and it was supposed to take some heat off of Windsor/Detroit.

All it seems to have done is gotten worse, especially if you are US bound. Doesn't seem to matter if you are in a car or truck...it stinks. I know the border guys are just doing thier job but so are the guys in Detroit, they seem to get people though.

LDB, I live in Northern Michigan and I see a lot of black squirrels. My squirrel book says they are actually gray squirrels with black phase coloration found mainly in the north.
There is an all white squirrel population in Olney, Il.

I cross at Sarnia every week , always coming out empty . I try to arrange to take my 10 hours at London or Wyoming and cross the border between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. . The last couple of weeks it only took me half an hour from the time I paid the toll on the Canadian side (no line) until I cleared customs on the U.S. side . Watch for longer delays when more Canadian shoppers take advantage of the dollar exchange rate giving them more advantage buying from U.S. retailers . My big complaint crossing into Canada is my broker . Far too many failed PARS .
Those Smart Cars are tougher than they look

Leo,
We snapped this picture while waiting at BASF. First time we'd seen a black squirrel, and the guard said they have them all over up there.
The bridge at Sarnia stinks! We haven't been X-Rayed that crossing, but have at 2 others. Seems the wait time is longer at Sarnia than anywhere else, cars and trucks included.

I didn't let it bother me, just wondered what was wrong with the guy that he was that snotty.

From what I saw of the guy riding the MP3 it works well in real life.

I usually took the attitude that he/she acted crappy because they have a crappy life. Maybe the guard just found out that his wife AND girl friend were both pregnant. That would make anybody crappy.
