Camera with no film

Common sense would tell you it is impossible except with digital camera (card) that you need film to make an impression to reproduce?

Yesterday unloaded at a Naval base was not allowed on to base because of the cameras. Did not argue and informed them its your problem to get this off my truck out in front of the base, as you let me onto another base to pick it and up and had no clear instructions.

But this was where (before they saw the camera and I was gona fess this up) they told me and they were already on my seat so I could give them, tape recorder, digital camera. They told me (We will not be responsible for them) "oh really" than you aint getting them I told them you take it out of my possesion than yes you will be responsible I informed them. I offered my video tape up and invited them to ride in the truck and put tape over every camera. Common sense nope, but we leave a border wide open for Terrorist to sneak in and in my opinion when a dirty bomb goes off in this country it will be traced to these people, entered there.

If I did not have the camera system mounted on the truck there was no way in hell they were gona confiscate my personal belongings and not be responble if anything happened to them. Be prepared at these places SOLO drivers. I could go on regarding this but.......

Broom: seems like stroke of catch 22 bad luck. We certainly understand the need to keep the non-military cameras off the military bases, but a receipt for your equipment would have been in order. I thought you acted reasonably and that the guards had a responsibility to exercise due care in safeguarding your stuff; if they couldn't do that why does our govt entrust them to safeguard our bases. Most likely contract labor that wasn't getting paid to exercise common sense.

BP: Good topic, I have picked up and delivered at many military bases. They usually give you some type of property tag that you turn back in when you
leave. They also list on the tag what you have deposited, camera phone etc.
Seems to me like you did the right thing as I and others would have acted similar.

i run bases here in norfolk area of va so much i leave the camrea home
use to have one in standard throw way camrea in truck and in a sealed container and said not to be open unless need for damage to load or vch and they wanted it and could be picked up on return to gate
so it became so much of pain that now just take it if go out of town

I was at one of these paranoid shippers one time and they were so smart they didn't ask me any questions they just went over my truck with a fine toothed comb. The comb must have been missing a few teeth, though, because they missed the camera on the back of my truck and the monitor on my dash.

I figured I'd throw them a bone. I gave them my camera phone and this seemed to make them happy.

Many of the military places have those lock boxes out front. They take your items and put them in and lock them until you leave.
Never had a problem at those kind of places.
