We try to avoid Laredo. We have not been there for almost two years now. There is little of "our kind of freight" that move either in or out of that town.

Then Mexico is going to have to upgrade their entire industry. To include, a cdl program, HOS laws compatible with the U.S. and Canada, equipment upgrades, etc etc etc. Want to bet that does not happen but the program does?

Truck inspections are few and far between now, scales closed most of the time or just rolling trucks through. Add Mexican trucks to the mix. Safety isn't the priority, it's getting drivers that will haul it for less.

And Yes, I have copied and pasted an sent to my rep.

Leo, I have done my part and will continue to do so. I dont understand why truckers fail too say enough is enough and fight this invasion into our lively hood. I fear that our protest has fallen on deaf ears along with many other issues.

It's tough getting out of laredo now.

Yep, and if you all of a sudden just let the Mexican trucks keep rolling to wherever the freight is going instead of dropping it at the border, what will that do to those border towns? No freight to speak of in or out of Laredo, El Paso, or Nogales. I'm avoiding those areas for now anyway, or I'm bidding higher on freight going there to cover any dh out.

Canadains don't have to have the same level of rules and regulations that we in the USA have, they are close but they are not the same. IF the Mexican trucking companies get up here, you can rest assured that the playing field will change drastically, and the rules won't be the same for them. maybe less, maybe more, I'm leaning towards less than either of us Yanks or Canucks. I do care what all the other drivers are doing, but, if you can't see what is happening in almost every sector of the economy you'll never see it, and I truly pity you when you do finally 'see it'. We have to stand together, and we have to fight for our livilhoods, our homes, our freedoms, our family's.
