The "media" is the Mainstream Media, or the "mass media", A.K.A., the liberal networks and print/digital media where the majority of people get their news.

Oh ... I see now:

You were using coded language and I was supposed to "mind read" and determine that you actually meant something other than what you actually wrote.

Thanks for clearing that up !

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC all ignored the anti-lockdown findings after having spent much of the pandemic shaming red states with minimal restrictions and events deemed by critics as "superspreaders." In addition, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, Reuters, USA Today, Axios, Politico among other major outlets also turned a blind eye to the findings.

About that "study" ... (which actually isn't "from John Hopkins"):

Here’s What We Know About ‘Johns Hopkins Study’ on Lockdowns

The coded words......again wow we have a mind reader here folks.

No - you're still not getting it:

I took Turtle's words literally - at face value: "the media"

And he basically came back and said (more or less, so paraphrasing below):

"No, what I actually said ("the media") isn't what I really meant ... I meant the Mainstream Media ..."

As though someone might divine his intent and meaning as being different from the words he actually wrote.

Please do try and keep up.

No I wasn't. I used the same language with the same meaning that has been part of the lexicon and in public discourse for decades. I feel quite confident in saying you are smart enough and well-read enough to know that.

It does make one wonder if he got a hold of the same stuff Adam schiff takes......

Not about the reporting of this particular story, but about your definition of the "media, I'm curious.

Fox news counts as a "mass media" outlet, does it not? They have a big audience and millions get their news from Fox. You mention liberal news sources but leave Fox off your list. In your mind, is "liberal" a crucial and defining component of "the media?"

To me, "the media," "Mainstream Media," and "mass media" would include any news source that is large based solely on audience size. Within that distinction one can further distinguish individual outlets as liberal, conservative or neutral. I would include Fox News on the mass media list and sub-categorize it as conservative.

While your right fox news is a mainstream news channel it is considered to far right leaning to be considered safe for Democrats to watch....less they be allowed to make up their own minds.....
I watch both sides of the news and try to read between lines but I find that the MSNBC and cnn tend to lean very very far left and in some cases lie about things to push a narrative.....
The last time Republicans got angry we threw tea in a harbor....the January 6th was not even close to a insurrection it was a riot. nothing more than a riot.
If it was a insurrection...a true insurrection you would have seen a take over of the government....and alot more people with guns.

What a stupid comment...
The Republican party didn't exist until years later.

It’s obvious what Turtle was referring to. As soon as I saw it I knew.
Not “conservative media” in general. I’ve seen outlets like Newsmax mention it and it was on Revolver’s website. Fox News also had it.
But Liberal “News” media. Not really.

Important points to note:

First, it was a "peaceful protest" ... now it was "a riot, not an insurrection" ...

Second, we've gone from "nobody had guns" to ... "a true insurrection you would have seen a take over of the government....and alot more people with guns"

Of course, this latter assertion presumes that all insurrections attempted, are successful and can never fail.

I'm sure Old John Brown - whose body now lies mouldering in his grave - would like to have a word about that.

No I wasn't.

It is my opinion that you were.

I used the same language with the same meaning that has been part of the lexicon and in public discourse for decades.

How long it has been used in that manner is largely irrelevant.

The fact is, it was used in a manner that was something other than its plain or literal meaning.

Hence: coded language ...

I feel quite confident in saying you are smart enough and well-read enough to know that.

You would be correct - but as I point out above, that's irrelevant.

I see this thread has dissolved once again from arguing metaphors to supposed “codes”.

You realize Democrats backed Biden right....that's Darwinism at its best.
But Democrats have for the most part embraced the vaccine. They chose life over death.

But when it comes to the election, the choice was bad or worse, no correct answer, the voters were screwed either way.
