Buying GASOLINE on T-Chek Card

For years I have purchased diesel for my "C" truck. Never a hitch. Now that I am in a gas burning van I have encountered a few problems.
Twice at Loves I have been told insuficent money on the card. WRONG...I had just checked the balance minutes before. After T-Chek put the agent on hold for about 20 minutes, she was given the authorization. This happened at was two different locations.

Elsewhere (TA) the desk clerk did not recognize it as a T-Chek,(prob because of the FedEx logo) She got hopelessly fouled up until a supervisor straightened it out.

We are expeditors. We can`t have these needless delays.

We used to have that issue years ago, in another life. Ours was some kind of "fuel code issue". Like the card wasn't set to allow gas so my drivers wouldn't steal it. I think it was an easy fix when our account rep looked into it.

Congratulations Redytrk on your promotion to Van Expediter! It is great to see one of the pioneers of expediting work their way up from a truck to a van. What took you so long to make the change? I guess wearing that grocery bag over your head for so many years reduced the flow of oxygen to your brain. Since ditching the bag, you've seen the light. Like a breath of fresh air. Welcome to Vanner's World!

If you're like me and I know I am, use a credit card. Get a credit card that has no annual fees, no fees from date of purchase and offers super bonus rewards points. I use a Sears Master Card and a Disney Visa card.

Over the years with the Sears card I have redeemed reward points for starting batteries, deep cycle batteries, an air compressor, and assorted van stuff that comes with a receipt as paid for and when applicable, which is most often the case, tax deductible.

The Disney card charges aren't tax deductible expenses. At least I haven't tried to deduct them. My wife and I went to Disney World in February and had about $750 in Mickey Money to blow. Find a credit card that suits your life style and charge, charge, charge! Just make sure you pay your balance in full every month.

My solution to that was to get cash out of the ATM.. I got tired of the hassle.. so I'd save a balance up, pay the 2.00 to withdraw it, and either use cash, or deposit it back into my own bank. I never put too much on it anyway.

ATM fees my arse! I go to Walmart & buy a candy bar for 68¢ and get cash back. Even had a sweet older lady offer to buy the candy bar one time, when she saw the card in my hand. After I explained what I was doing, she said I was smart to do it that way. Just the same, I appreciated her generous heart. :)

Indeed it does feel like a promotion. Also I feel like a kid out of school. To at last be free of that electronic baby sitter is really wonderful. I cant tell you how many times I have been only a short distance from home, and had to shut her down for the mandatory 10 hr break. Passing weight scales is also a delight. I wonder if the scalemaster notices my one finger salute?
By the way this is just back to my roots. I started out in a van, 1988 thru 1993. It was then the paper bag caused me to get into a "C"
