Business could take a turn for the better later this month because Kittyhawk Air Cargo is basically on life support. Currently they are under Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. With FedEx Express taking over the US postal contract on Aug 23rd, the postal service will no longer need the 10 planes they had from KH. Kittyhawk then may roll over into Chapter 7 and leave the North American freight forwarder community looking for a means to move their Air Freight. This would all trickle down to the surface expedite market because of lack of capacity in other modes to handle the overflow. I wouldn't bail out just yet, things could get interesting in the next 3 months! Check out this link to see some posts about KH: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/airfreight
