Hello all, It is hard to believe that there isn´t one post on business plans other than reference to them. How many of us REALLY have taken the time to write one? Advisors... can anyone recommend their attorney or accountant? I AM writing a business plan and want to enlist the time and experience of "good" professionals. Thanks

A business plan is the best place to start. I started out and continue to use Overdrive's "Partners in Business" manual for owner operators and small fleet owners. It does require some modification for expediting, as it was written mainly for the tractor-trailer crowd. I definitely plug figures into my plan as I go along, to get better ideas of what makes good financial sense. Working on the road, it's hard to keep much in your head. If you keep accurate records (receipts, etc) you can do most of it yourself when you have time at home.
Find a good accountant who lives nearby you who has some knowledge of the trucking field. It's best to meet face to face on the tax subject, not merely send your records to someone you don't know.
It takes too much time to clarify cloudy things.
You won't need an attorney, most likely, to start out.

Life is what happens to you while your busy makeing other plans.
Try MS Office for your BIZ plan. I like it but it took a few nights to learn.

WOW thanks Guys!
MaN-O-MAN! I just checked out the Overdrive sight and I am Greatful indeed!
I know from the past that mistakes cost someone money every time, and this sight looks like it will help avoid several basic ones.
I 've used MS Office and Quickbooks Pro for book keeping ect....they are both ok for what I was doing, BUT what else should I look into?
Thanks Ya'll
