Broken Windshield

We had a windshield crack last Wednesday on a run to Florida.
Safelite came by the house on Friday and installed a new one.
We are now in Monroe, MI where it is raining and our new windshield is leaking quite a bit from the top.
Guess I'll break out the duct tape once it dries up and see if I can get them to put in a new one soon.

We never had any problems with installs by safelite, but glass doctor tried 4 times to install a windshield and not have it leak for us and failed.

A few years back I needed a windshield in a Frtliner. Dealer said it would sit inside 24 hours to let glue dry. He said just the vibration of starting it up and backing it out would mess up the glue job.
I think they went back to roping them in.

They will just repair that most likely.not install a new one.

Nothing worst then and having a job go bad and ending up with a redo. At least your dealing with safelite and usaully they are good about standing behind the work, and in most cases can get to it in a matter of hours if they have a truck in the area. Ive allways had good luck with safelite.

They advertise a lifetime nationwide warranty. Look them up and have them fix it right where your sitting .

Call the customer service number. Let them know. They should direct you to a.facility that can accomdate you. We had the same issue a few years ago. They replaced to.windshield and paid to have the headliner replaced due to water damage. You do have to be slightly aggresive and persistant, but they should take care of it.

I have had a couple installed by SafetyLite, both leaked. 1st one took back to the shop and they injected more sealant to fix. 2nd one, I saved me some time and did it myself, not hard, just peal back the rubber molding at the location of the leak and inject away until you hit the leak, you may even be able to see where they missed a spot. From experience, don't use the cheaper tub and sink caulk, it doesn't seem to ever dry and drools down the glass every time it rains or gets a wash job. Took me 2 years to finally get it out. Use plain ole 100% silicone instead.

The work has a warranty on it, call and make them come to you at the truckstop.
