I read Hill's original case that started his site. The officer and inspector's boss already threw in the towel on the case, siting they were wrong to wake him. Guess they bit off more than they could chew.
I refused to wake my wife up once, but I didn't have a camera wish I did though. They sent me over to secondary, where I argued about there unconctitutional stop with their supervisor for about 20 minutes. Basically they acted like I was nut, till finally the supervisor started banging on the sleeper till my wife woke up and opened the door.
The whole thing is retarded as ilegal entry to the US isn't really illegal anyway, its a civil offense on par with a traffic tickett. If they made it a felony again backed by prison time illegal immigration would stop and they wouldn't need all these fying checkpoints.
They will do what every they are allowed to get away with. It is a VERY GOOD thing that those drivers had the guts to stand up to them and not just accept being bullied. Too bad SO many in this country are SO WILLING to just do as they are told.
When you have judges and juries who have no problems believing LEOs over citizens, because they are supposed to be the stalwart of law and order, then things will never change. Countless numbers of people will accept penalty, thru no fault of their own, because it ends up as their word against an officer's.
Get real if your crossing the boarder you know the deal just do it. Stupid is as stupid does.
Just use their latrine.
I have been making runs to Canada for about a year now, and never have had any problems with the officers on either side of the border. This is going over the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit.
I did it for about 6 years 2-5 times a week...had an anal officer a couple of times but nothing really to sweat about...and most of that was when they had the students on in the summer time...They are just a civil servant with a gun...LOL
Some people just go around looking for issues to gripe about....
Question for you refuse to get out for border patrol advocates. Do you have your partner exit the vehicle when you go to a military base to p/u or deliver? At a chemical plant (to watch video/ get signed in) for p/u or delivery?
OOPS! Let me also say, I DO NOT believe your sleeping/on break partner should have to be disturbed, under any of my previously posted examples. If your sleeping/on break partner is disturbed, and has to exit the sleeper, does your partner, as federal regulation dictates, go "on duty" and then restart his/her 10hr break?
