Canada Border Crossing Concerne

I am forced (volunteer) to go into Canada. This past month I have been to both Victoria and Halafax plus Ayr. When comming back from Nova Scotia, was forced to fill out a Bill of Ladding at the crossing on the US.

Did not exactly make friends with the BPC officer when I asked and I was not joking. How? Which is my question I have now, crossed a dozen times since January, not once have I filled out this useless piece of paper.

There was no frieght so how am I suppose to list something that does not exist and why would the government want to know that I have nothing on board? And why only once in twelve runs?

Do not understand why there is no standard routine for crossing, why one time I must fill out a useless piece of paper and all the others no paperwork. Seems like I should have waisted twelve pieces of paper instead of just one.

Broompilot; You have to take a more laid back attitude when dealing with the various Customs authorities.
You say to the BPC Office: " Bill of Lading? well, OK but I've never had to do that before. What would you like me to do?"
There is no rhyme or reason; because of the human element involved.
Just follow instructions, don't get upset; don't ask a lot of dunmb questions like "WHY"; just do what the guy wants and get the he(doublehockeysticks) on your way.
Somethings defy explanation.

#1 I do not get upset when this happens on the spot but I can post what ever I want to on here. But the day on question Hurricane K was now in Nova Scotia pouring down in buckets. Now I have crossed at least 10 times and I am filling out a form for what? Thats my question. Whats the sense, no I did not say that to him but I am asking people here.

I ask how and feel like an idiot for asking and hope that I do not screw up as I am nervious for absolutly no reason but am getting treated like I have done something criminal. I know the rules crossing a border you give up all rights, you can be held for I believe 48 hours for no reason. A smart @%$## I can be on this site to a law enforcment officer no.

I do not play games with my profession, which is why I want to learn everything I can about crossing. Observation there is always a new twist and I am always ready but I still have a pit in my stomach like as if I am gona get cought with drugs that someone left in my truck when I went to the bathroom.

If a form needs to be obtained than why is it so difficult to get them. Why are the Canadians so good at crossings but the US is terrible. One geat example Canadian Customs were at the EO show where were the US Customs? See a reason for my attitude towards them. Undeserved??? No explantion.

If you do not do something day in and day out but you want to do your best it is difficult or at least new. Like the first time filling up at a Truck Stop.

I want it to go well, I am not a threat my documents are in order. I am prepared to be humiliated just do not enjoy it. Hope others are reading this.

What you were hauling is commonly refered to as "sailboat fuel" or "dispatcher brains". How about "broader patrol agent common sense"? I've said it here before, I will never figure out how treating us rudely is helping with the war on terror.
