Bluetooth Headsets

Does anyone use any of those little Bluetooth headsets for the cell-phones?

How do you like it?

Is it worth the money?

What do you use?

I'm looking at a Motorla H700.

Thanks for your feedback.

I wouldn't be without mine. I have a motorola, not sure of model. It is fantastic. Voice operated, can dial any number even if it is not already in my memory. Calls are clear. I can hear and be heard without any problems. Battery last for about a day of average talking. It uses the same charger as my cell phone. Wish I was in sales again, I could make some commision on a product that I am sold on!!! ;) ;)

Mine uses the Motorola HS850. Sometimes it's a little difficult to hear even turned up all the way. Sometimes I get told I'm a little difficult to hear. Overall I like it and don't want to go back to a wired handsfree. There may be better choices out there but this is supposed to be the latest greatest, or at least was when I got it a couple months ago.

We also have the Motorola HS850 that we use with a Cingular phone. It is strange depending on who we talk to and what kind of phone they have on how well we can hear them. When the truck is running we only have a few people we can hear very well. We have not had a problem with them hearing us. If it is bad we put on one of our wireless headsets which then defeats the purpose of the Blue Tooth. When the truck and the generator are not running I can hear fine on it but Bob some times still has troubles. It would be a lot better if you could turn the sound up a lot louder.

I have or had the Motorola HS810 (I can't find it). it's the last generation of the Motorola 700. It was great when no background noise, such as in the vehicle, but practicaly useless in a vehicle.

My next bluetooth earpiece will be the kind where the bud is in the ear canal rather than outside like the 700.

I have a Motorola but never use it because of the difficulty hearing and being heard when there is truck and/or road noise to contend with.

I also don't like that switching back to using the phone normally cannot be done quickly when you are in a situation where the Blue Tooth headset is not working well because of the noise.

If you're not in a noisy environment, they work great.

Same goes for me - I recently got a Razr with the Bluetooth, but can't hear clearly over the highway noise, & find it aggravating to "tell" the phone to switch the Bluetooth off - it pretty much defeats the purpose of handsfree!
The phone itself has one big advantage, though - it's flat enough to put in a front pocket.

A good friend has been using them since they first came out and here is his suggestion.
"I have a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth HBH-300 headset that I love. It's actually my second, my first was a Jabra and was lost. I like the HBH-300 best because it's got a great noise-canceling microphone and it's much easier for people to hear me when I talking in noisy conditions."

I'm bringing up an old thread and giving it some new life... I'm looking at getting an iphone from att. This is a big step for me as a driver who does not even use GPS.
I've looked at some smart phones as they call them and the iphone has always been talked about and it's been highly recommended, due to all the apps available for it.
I've recently seen many apps for the smart phones that have appealed to me.

Somebody told me I'd have to get insurance for the iphone thru Apple, because Att does not offer it like on my regular flip cell phone I got thru them.

I'm seeking to use a blue tooth headset, but not the tiny ones that try to hang onto your ears like a fancy paper clip. I'm looking at the types that you wear over your head and have the boom mic that comes around to your mouth.

The MotorTrend 6x noise cancellation and the Blue Parrot Xtreme Noise Suppressor, the blue parrot at Pilot is 99, the Motor Trend model is 70 at Pilot... but surely there's a place online I can get a headset for 20 or so bucks less than at a truck stop.

I was going to post another thread, but then found the search link on EO to hunt down some old threads and thought this would be a good place to put this... I didn't see the thread I was looking for that I had commented on a few months back on headsets.

so, talk to me.

I recently bought the MotorTrend I think its model 700 at the Pilot for about $125.00. I like it and for a person like me that is half deaf I find my self turning the volume down often. Everyone I talk to has no problem hearing me and since its noise cancelling (sp?) they do not pick up on to much road noise unless I have the windows cracked open. I talk several hours a day on mine and used it so far 2 days without having to recharge the battery. Its lightweight and comfortable to wear for hours at a time.

I also have the Plantronics bluetooth that fits over your ear and the earpiece goes into the drum and has a mic that extends to about the middle of your cheek. This is my bluetooth of choice and had I not cut my ear (long story) making the Plantronics unit hurt my hear I never would have bought the Motor Trend. The Plantronics is part of my dress code. Its that comfortable and I put it on when I get up in the morning and take it off before bed. I am so used to using a bluetooth headset I really dislike holding the phone up to my ear now and cant imagine how I ever got along without one.

Both units get high rating from me and I know others who have the BlueParrot and speak highly of them.

A friend of mine has the Motor Trend and is happy with it. He always sounds good on my end. I have Blue Parrot and I'm totally satisfied with it.

The Blueparrot BX250 is the best i have use, and tat $71.50 price the Turtle pt up is the best i have seen anywhere.....

Anyone know where you can "PICKUP" (not mail for) the foam mc covers for the boom mics? It doesn't have to be "the one "for the exact product a general or universal one will work..

I too have a blue parrot-not as sheek looking as the descrete small ones-but I can hear great as the other end-most say they didn't know I was on the device-the smaller ones pick up too much background noise in the truck

I use the Blueparrot Expressway. It comes with over the head or just the ear mounts. I think with all the discounts I ended up paying 52.00 for it. I can hear very good with it and folks can hear me. The mic is addjustable, good for over the ear mount.
