Bleeding Hearts Speak Out

Now there's an outcry starting that Osama was unarmed when our troops stormed his compound. That it was an "unfair fight".

Ummm...just how many people in the World Trade Center, Pentagon, Flight 93 plus the other jets' passengers were prepared to fight back against those jets being used, at Osama's direction, as weapons of massive death on September 11, 2001?

Talk about UNFAIR!!!!

As a side note, my only blood nephew has just told me he is being deployed AGAIN to Afghanistan in June, for a year. This is his 5th stint in the Middle East since October 2001; this will be his third time in Afghanistan, he has also been to Iraq twice (United States Army, supply sargeant).

There's been a member of the paternal side of my family in every war starting with the Revolutionary...and they all came home safe. Let us hope this luck keeps holding.

Bin Laden was a coward and died a cowards death. We should have mutilated his body like they did our troops. Our government is such a wimp. Put the pics out there. Dare them to come at us again. We will be more than happy to send them to Allah.

Good luck to your nephew and thanks for his service.

I don't think I'm a bleeding heart but I also don't need to see any pictures or have his corpse ripped apart by an angry mob.
For me it comes down to not wanting to drop to the level that this animal was. Discarding him in the ocean like a piece of trash suits me just fine.

You know the mistake was made in using this as a political moment in our lives.

IF the people in the military (those in the pentagon) and in the government were actually above smarter than my cat, they would have gone in, killed everyone there, cleaned up the mess and than left with not a word to the public or anyone else. Job done, no reason to backtrack in public announcements, no putting people in danger, no having witnesses around to talk about if he was unarmed or armed ... nothing other than the question when would we find him.

BUT alas, our need to know is greater than our ability to rationalize and reason. We were and still out for blood but on the other hand we seem to supposed to be a Christian nation where we just had to observe his 'right' to a proper burial while we crapped all over those who perished on 9/11 again by even considering a burial rite for this person. We didn't do that in WW2 and shouldn't now, bury them in pig **** face down in an unmarked grave on some military base.

I'm no bleeding heart but this is one of the few times where the duality of an idea to have a great American moment at the same time telling those who are on the fence that we can find you seems to be obtuse and dumb is not even remotely reasonable. I don't want to see pictures of him, I didn't want to know about his killing because I know as many others this is just another rallying cry for terrorism at the same moment just another day.

Talking to a few Muslims last night, they seemed to say the same thing, he was an enemy of their faith and there was no need to make him a martyr so they would have killed him and everyone else, buried all of them in an unmarked grave facing down with no rites at all. One even hinted at the Israeli style burial for terrorist being the right thing to do.

A bit of both probably. But enough banter...

It is more than unfortunate that Osama hid behind his religion, using it as an excuse to exact his personal hatred. When his personal wealth wasn't enough to sway people, he zeroed in on a major vulnerability: their spirituality. But, this is history repeating itself amongst humanity. It will happen again. Probably not amongst the Muslims again, though. I am keeping a close eye on those Amish...they seem to take great pleasure in awaking sleeping expediters snoozing in vans by the "clip clop" of their horses hooves.

Considering the mission was a straight-up assassination, carried out by Navy SEALs, they're right, it was an unfair fight. But then again, these are the same people who want to provide firearms to deer and rabbits for the same reason.

Unfair fight: Joe Schmoe and Cindy Citizen standing at the coffee machine on the 86th floor of the WTC, September 11, 2001, approximately 8:50 am. They have a few minutes to get their minds into work mode before their days start. They hear a weird sound, they both look towards the floor to ceiling window at the end of the hall only to see a 737 barreling straight toward them...

Bleeding hearts need to also study the finer points of the fable "Little Rabbit Foo Foo" before supporting giving a rabbit a firearm. Just sayin'.

i say that if they are following one law they need to follow them all. if he was unarmed he should of not been shot . isn't that a law or a right . why didn't they just shot saddum when they caught him then . WHY IS THERE SOME MANY 2 STANDARDS
then they give Osama a quick burial . because of his religion . right what religion rights did the 9/11 victims have . so why are they worried about his .

i am glad they say they got Osama and truly hope they did get him . hope no matter what he is dead . weather it the other day in the compound or in a cave . as long as he is dead .

hope all that are over there come home safe .
