An interesting update on the traffic stop in Deming, NM, that resulted in a case of medical torture appears to place the blame on the narcotics dog [Leo] that 'alerted' officers to drugs. Which weren't found. In more than one case.

Who says they're not? It often takes a long time to investigate, getting enough documented info to make the charges stick, so it would be surprising to hear anything on that end very soon.
The lawsuits, OTOH, have already begun. [And I hope they defendants have to pay through the...er, nose.]

Only time will tell. According to the time stamp on that stop that you posted it took place over a year ago. That is a very long time for the justice department to do nothing.
