Birth certificate

Like I mentioned in another site, I could've made him a "computer generated certified copy" myself, and it wouldn't have taken as long.

I still find it hard to believe he doesn't have an original somewhere like nearly everyone else in the country that's got a passport. Considering he's attended several schools and universities, run for political office, etc. one would think he's got one of those tattered copies folded away in a safe deposit box or in a secure place with other important papers.

The notation at the bottom of the document states that it's a certified copy of the one on file in HI, and dated Apr 25, 2011. That's probably the best anyone's going to get from them, so case closed....maybe. I guess he and the Dems wanted to keep the issue alive by delaying the release, but Trump started making them nervous.

Well in case you missed it .The President held a news conference this AM .Not to address world issues.nor the rising price of fuel.Just to say he thinks it's silly that his birth cerificate issue is on going for 2 year's. Then he has to make a stop in Chicago and film a show with His good freind Opara. Then its off to New York for a fund rasier. I am sure along the way he will smile, point his finger at someone .I wonder what ever happen to running the country. He is out rasing money for his relection, If you ask me that is silly Mr President. Why not start doing some work. You were full of promises and delivered nothing.

Now that I've stopped laughing, I can respond. People rag on him because he won't address the birth certificate issue. So, he finally addresses the birth certificate issue, and people rag on him because he's wasting his time addressing it. ROTFLMAO

Still doesn't make him eligible. IF it's real, it makes him a natural citizen... not a natural BORN citizen.

I don't get your reasoning.

If he was BORN in a U.S. state (Hawaii is still a state the last I checked), and the birth certificate confirms it, he is a Natural BORN citizen.

Then why have a distinction between natural and natural born?

Englishlady... a natural-born citizen is a person born of two citizens. Obama's dad was here on a student visa, and never intended on becoming naturalized. Even in English common law (which is what the Supreme Court decided was the basis for this law) they say children of aliens who have given allegiance to the crown, unless they're at war, shall be natural-born. Again, Obama Sr had no intentions of doing that. Obama Jr was under jurisdiction of both the US and the UK. Natural-born citizens cannot have two allegiances, according to English common law... and therefore, according to our law.

That has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.
Reminds me of a Yogi-ism.

Not at all. Just as a pure-blood german shepherd must be born of two german shepherds, so a natural-born citizen must be born of two people in allegiance to the US... ie, citizens or naturalized (resident?) aliens.

I have the court case that makes my argument. However it too is filled with yogi-isms, and would likely confuse the **** out of you. So I won't post it.

The constitution is clear on this. A natural born citizen is anyone born in this country. The citizenship of his/her parents is irrelevent.

Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution sets forth the eligibility requirements for serving as President of the United States:

“ No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. ”

The grandfather provision of the "natural born Citizen" clause provided an exception to the "natural born" requirement for those persons who were citizens at the time of the adoption of the Constitution. (The first several Presidents prior to Martin van Buren as well as potential Presidential candidates such as Alexander Hamilton were born as British subjects in British America before the American Revolution and this grandfather clause would cover them.

Prove it. Show me where it says it, and I'll be right there to call bull. The Supreme Court itself has said the Constitution has never defined citizenship.

Ok... that says WHO can be president. But it doesn't define citizen, natural-born, or otherwise. For that, you need to see British common law.

Also compare the requirements for senate or house, the phrase citizen is used not natural born. If there is no difference between h two why he different phrasing!

Natural born has nothing to do with location but parentage. This is why the 14th ammendment sais born in the US and subject to the jurisdiction thereof. That's a fancy way of saying if you are US born and your parents are citizens IE subjects of the US then you are Natural Born. B obama's dad was not Subject to US jurisdiction there B Obama is not natural born but naturalised.

My Understanding is Chester Arthur had the same issue. Obamas not the first but he should be the last.
