As mentioned, it depends on your vehicle class and carrier. If your carrier has more vehicles in your class than loads, your chances are greatly reduced. As a vanner I've got automotive freight out of McCalla. You are also close to Huntsville. South side of Auburn I scored freight from Donaldson Mfg. There is also a Briggs and Straton and some manufacturing plants in that industrial park. If you are with a low bid wins the prize carrier, everywhere is a jackpot.

Birmingham, Birmingham,
Greatest city in Alabam
You can travel across this entire land,
There ain't no place like Birmingham

I've had weeks where I've got to Alabama (Birmingham and north) and been shot right back out. Even got one out of Birmingham late one Saturday night that was going up to Indianapolis.

But I've also had weeks where I've had to wait and move out. It all depends who you're with, and what things are doing out of there.

Id rather be in Nashville than Birmingham anyday. But each companies strong areas are different based on their customer base, if they have any customers. Load board companies? It can be a crapshoot than.
