Bestpass

We where given some information the other day on a system called Bestpass. It is supposed to replace EZ-Pass, PrePass, and Norpass. The paper work that was given to us about the Bestpass is a year old and I cannot find any information on internet about this system. Does anyone have this or have you heard of it?

EZ-Pass or other prepaid systems that have reciprocity agreements with EZ-Pass are a must have business tool for the expediter that chooses not to wait in the cash lines at toll plazas.

I chose the Massachusetts' Fast Lane program because it is honored at all of the EZ-Pass locations and now the Illinois Toll roads. The benefit that I like is a monthly statement showing all of my activity on every toll road on which it is accepted. These include all the NY toll roads and bridges, NJ tolls, MD, WV, MA, DE, IL and PA.

Hopefully the toll road commissions in KS, OK, OH and IN will join the EZ-Pass system and keep our windshield mounted transponders at a minimum.

I'd like to get a system like that. Currently I have the black PrePass and it gets me by a lot of weigh stations but no tolls. We were told in orientation that any toll receipts from NY or MA could be turned in for a credit against fuel tax due in those states. I have only been up there twice and that was before knowing this. I don't know how you'd get the credit if you had a transponder. Something else I'll have to look into before making a final decision.

We have EZ Pass and we have PrePass but would like the convenience of only one unit. If the Bestpass can be used in more areas it sounds very interesting. It appears on the sheet of paper we have that they have odd ways of charging you depending on what area you run the most in. We where just curious if anyone was actually running with the Bestpass. I don't know why the statement you get each month from EZ Pass would not work for a receipt. It lists each toll that you pay. You also get some discount by using EZ Pass.

If I get to go to Louisville I'll be looking for these systems. I saw them in Dallas but didn't have the truck yet. I'm sure they'll be there. I'm planning on going Thu and Fri but prob not Sat as it will be too crowded with everyone off work.
