I downloaded the MyFitnessPal about a month ago and I'm really enjoying the results of using it. So far I've lost 8#s.

Diane and I have heard a lot about MyFitnessPal.com from several sources. I checked it out for the first time today and agree that it is very good; first and foremost because it is easy to use.
In my whole life, I have never paid much attention to diet, nutrition, calories, food lables and such. Such things were of no interest to me, and they offer little inspiration now. But using this easy app instantly made these topics more interesting because it reverses the approach. Instead of trying to learn about carbs and fat and protien and sugar and such ahead of time by reading a book or article that will not hold my interest, I can use the app to easily enter the food I eat and see the results.
I always knew that a trip through McDonald's drive-thru was more "expensive" than a bowl of oatmeal, but seeing how it all tabulates up after you eat gets you thinking right away about how you can improve your score. And it does it in a way that is different than others I have found.
What MyFitnessPal.com and others say about tracking what you eat is absolutely true: "...the best way to lose weight and keep it off forever is to simply keep track of the foods you eat."
A number of weight-loss techniques have been recommended and discussed on the Open Forum. This app is one of the easiest for a number of reasons. First, it is totally free. Second, it is almost effortless to use as you go through your day. Third, it requires nothing new in your life beyond entering the food you eat.
You don't need to start a new exercise routine. You don't need to change your schedule. You don't need to commit to a new diet. You don't need to set stress-producing weight-loss goals. You don't need to go to the gym. You don't need to limit your trips to the buffet. You don't need to deny yourself your favorite foods.
All you have to do is take a minute or two (less as you learn the app) to enter the food you eat. That's not much of a stretch for people who happily put time and keystrokes into this Open Forum.
Once you start tracking the food you eat, you will likely feel, welling up from within, the desire to eat better. You won't begin to eat better because you feel you have to. You will begin to eat better because you want to. That's the effect that tracking the food you eat has.
Another interesting feature of this app is the ability to interact with friends and groups if you wish to. Expediters who are on the road much of the time can enjoy the company and support of others who are also on a weight-loss quest; be they family and friends back home or fellow expediters on the road.
