Bad News for Panther Drivers...!

I have just have become aware of a ad in one of the trucker magazines that showed Panther advertising for company drivers.This is just another example of the company looking out for their bottom line,and not the owner operator.It is the same thing that happened to all the owner-ops in the trucking industry,that got eaten up by cheap freight,and lost out to the large companys.When Panther floods the market with Tractors and Straight Trucks,who do you think will get loaded first.

While new at this, I can tell you one thing, numbers can turn into power.
I have organized this kind of stuff before and I am getting close at doing it here.
UNION UNION UNION in the expedite truck industry is a much overdue need of the drivers and owner operators.
Our first line of representation should be for the drivers, reepresenting their needs with o/o.
Then in the distance the o/o need representation with the companies.
POWER IS IN NUMBERS AND IF WE ALL WOULD FACE THE FACT WE COULD MOVE OUR NEEDS FORWARD IN ---------------- UNION POWER!

The ad in question was Emailed to all fleet owners.
The purpose of the ad is to help fleet owners locate drivers through Panther's recruiting dept.

They are not seeking drivers to drive a company truck owned exclusively by Panther.

This is a case of confusion over semantics. As stated, it's to find drivers for fleet owners. Panther isn't putting a lot of money into a depreciating asset that isn't all that much of an asset in the grand scheme of things.

yeah...what they said. The gist of the advertising campaign is to let those teams running for companies out there know they can have better pay with expediting. The ad is generated to compete with the company drivers that are not makeing anything but running big miles. Even if I pick up the cost of insurance, I can still pay .44 a mile to drivers, instead of the .36 they get running the company truck for swift etc....

Blogged about this one a while back..Saw the ad and it looks like the have homoganized the way you fleet owners operate to get a consistancy for advertising. They may have suggested a common way for you fleet people to do business with your drivers.. To make it work... And that my friends is the closest you want to come to a union.. the fleet owners Local FOU #186... Unions have evolved to its highest level and have already started to to take peverbial darwinian dirt nap into extinction. If anyone should unionize it should be the individual o/os of paanther11 the fleet owners already have a seat at in the big comfy chair at the offices of PII
