After a couple of months on the nutrisystem diet I was so tickled this morning to reach into the back of the closet and snag a pair of Levi's I haven't worn in years and slide them on! :D

Attagirl! Bet the gardening helped, too - it always did for me, it's WORK! [With an excellent payday] :)

Congrats Honey....:D

Last time she wore those jeans was like 1982 or so...they've moved from the US to Canada and back...thats why we hold onto to things...just in case...

also the Nutrisystem D has been great for Juju's blood sugar and carb control....taking less pills now as well...

Thanks Cherri and hon! You betcha that gardening helps...well the weeding anyway...*l*

Just repotted a tiny slip of purple passion that a friend gave me and watered the flowers on the deck. Now to water the flower beds and then turn the sprinkler loose in the garden. Then as my darling hubby tells me...time for the treadmill as I'm planning a lazy day..and I just might play with those seven little kittens that are running amuck on my deck and do my nails...I love putter days!:)

LMAO the 28's are long gone I'm shooting for 34, and for some reason you can't buy 35's No desire to ever get down to 28.
Told my Wife I refuse to go above 36's and if that happens I'll stop wearing pants.....She keeps feeding me:rolleyes:

actually for full retirement she has another ten years, she will be right at the age to qualify for retirement also. I can see her retiring, but I will only be 50, too early for me to retire, besides I love my job:) Physical limitations would be the only thing to keep me from driving/handling heavy freight, as I do have bad knees. Remember I do multiple deliveries throughout the day and pickups too. I don't have it as easy as you true expeditors :p

well a sprinter will heel them bad knees...mine took about 2 years before I walked without a limp or achiness.

I see a van in my future, even if I do local deliveries, it is much easier to get in and out of and the freight is usually lighter and/or loaded by forklift. But for now the straight truck is serving it's purpose, and I can still handle it, the pain comes and goes, good weeks and bad weeks, stairs are my difficulty.
Good thing about the route I have been on is it is mostly to business with docks or at least a forklift, I will find out this next week if the other driver got his blood pressure in order and is coming back or not, either way I will have work there :)

also..there are 3 muscles that go down the thigh and join up at the kneecap....usually the inside muscle gets weak because of the job we do....now you only have 2 muscles pulling equally..picture that...now the knee cap is being pulled to one side all the time...this is where the irritation comes in....it wears the protective covering off the bone (socket) and now you have bone on bone friction..aka pain...cortizone shots will help but ....

while sitting put a ankle weight on your legs and do leg ups...this will develop the muscles equally and that protective coating will redevelop...

and of course try to minimize the jumping off the truck..

I have not jumped off the truck or docks or walls in many many years. I use both hand holds to climb into the driver seat. and I use the handhold and door strap to climb into the back or use the liftgate. The leg weights idea is a good one and also we do plan on hitting the gym two or three times a week. We have the membership, the hard part is getting there LOL
I have had x-rays and they say everything looks okay in my knees. I do favor my left leg more so that knee is "older" then my right knee due to problems I was born with.
