B.O.L.

The last time it was raining really, really hard. Did your paperwork get a little damp? The ink with those new pens just seems to smudge away once it is wet.

Saw a old expert with a Great Idea.

At Averitt for our bills that stayed with the trailer we put all that paperwork inside of a zip lock bag and put it in the Placard holder. It would stay put all weekend or longer for the next driver and be dry. So I saw this guy do this with all of his paperwork as well.

Since I am so darn smart, why could I of not thought of that long ago? Note books etc... always got wet and me to. So now I put those B.O.L. + my pen + any other documents I need for that load into a zip lock bag for my run. Its all kept nice and neat, and easy to find in the truck, log book, or briefcase how ever you may store it. Inside of this its easy to pull out and READ any #s or info from the paperwork.

If your like I have been just carrying in all that paperwork, this is much easier, and when the guard or person in charge asks for it. Its all inside let them look for it, as they know what they need instead of me guessing.

We keep our paperwork inside a metal clipboard and that works for dry weather. The zip lock bag is a great idea for the rain, it will keep the clipboard dry on that run to the shippers door.

Yes.

I have a Rubbermaid Closure Style Clipboard that is non-metallic. Nuclear, chemical and electronic component companies may have restrictions on metallic objects.

I store a few pens, some Waybills, settlement paperwork, and a couple Trip Pak envelopes inside the clipboard.

If it is sunny, calm and dry I leave my current load paperwork clipped on top of the board. On wet and windy days, I store the current load paperwork inside the clipboard until I walk from the truck into the shipper or consignee.
