"Authority" question.

I have been doing some research on getting my own authority. Am I reading this right, if you only operate in your state of residence, you do not have to have Operating Authority.

depending on size of equipment.there are a couple staetes this true,in any size,intra state,but unless your in a cargo van,your still going need authority

Now this is interesting . "Generally, PUCO authority extends to commercial transportation that operates only within Ohio (intrastate). However, the federal government requires states to implement intrastate regulations that are similar to federal regulations. To accomplish this, the federal government contracts with state governments to enforce these regulations."
