It is August 16th. On our way from Denver to Cripple Creek, CO. It is cloudy, the roads are wet and, what is that? NO WAY, CAN'T BE, not in these days of Global Warming and ALGORE climate change, yep, it is what I think, SNOW!!

There is FRESH snow on the road and the hills at altitudes above 9300'. I TOUCHED snow in Cripple Creek which is at 9494" above sea level. Last years snow has yet to melt. Sounds like new glaciers forming to me!!

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — A woman identified as an anti-war protester hit U.S. Sen. Carl Levin in the face with an apple pie during the Armed Services Committee chairman's meeting with constituents in northern Michigan, authorities said Monday.

The senator took a question near the end of the Monday morning meeting in Big Rapids from a man who said he was a student, Levin's office said in a news release. The man read a long statement, then a woman came up and hit Levin with a pie.

Why would an anti-war "person" hit a flaming anti-military, anti-war, Senator like Carl Marx Levin? Does that make sense to you?

There WAS, however, a fair bit of snow!! By the way, dead ducks no longer pee!! :p Not many ducks up here either. No water. Just gold mines and coal smoke.

Not one bit. Even though he's the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, he's hardly what I'd call a war monger.

Maybe she's just nuts. Read the entire story. She sounds like a real winner.

It's weird to see snow in August. I was in Idaho Falls a few years ago when it snowed on July 4th. That was kewl.

It is two to four weeks early, even for that altitude. There are still pockets of last seasons snow left as well. Odd weather to say the least.

I did see it snow in England on July 4th, 1977.
