Attitude is everything . . .

Gripe, gripe, gripe. It seems that so many people have abandoned EO and the ones that remain are on a ***** fest.

Now, I could sit here a gripe and complain, but that would get me 1000 miles from nowhere. A bad attitude will take over your whole being and while you may not notice it, everyone you encounter will notice it. It has a tendancy to compound itself. Eventually, it will take over your whole being. It will cause you to fail at your goals.

And, those that are griping and complaining also are having a tendancy to blame everyone else for their problems. Take what you have to work with and make the best of it. Don't be powerless to change things, take responsibility, and take control of your destiny.

Always remember, "A bad attitude is like a cold - keep it to yourself because nobody else wants it!"

I know things are rough out here right now. But, this too will pass.

I too have told troubling stories on here, but my hope was that it could bring a smile to somebody's face and make them laugh at the circumstances and shine a light on their own circumstances. And, even the funny stories have been misinterpreted as negative . . . not by the author, but by the reader.

The best way to get out of this and maintain a positive attitude even in bad times is to just start out by faking it. Force yourself to smile, tell a joke, say "hello, good morning" to a complete stranger - and eventually you will mean it. Because, just like a bad attitude will take over your whole being - So will a good attitude. And, you need a good attitude to succeed in a bad time.

We work very hard to keep a good attitude and if we do not like the way something is run we try to change the problem at the source not just complain about it. We get involved if we do not like something and that has really led us to some interesting places.

Once we have moved on from a problem that we could not overcome we do not dwell on what happened we move on the new.

Try is not in our vocabulary anymore we either work on changing the problems that we can and learn to deal with the problems we cannot change. If the problems get bad enough and nothing is changing it is time to move on.

It is kind of hard to take control of your destiny when you are leased to one carrier that controls all your income. As far as being rough out here but this to will pass, I totally agree. It only becomes a problem when you go bankrupt and lose your truck before this rough spot passes.

Misery loves company they say.............:D

We are a stubborn bunch though....

Complaining isn't taxed yet...so I guess people are just getting it all out there....;)

I'll even say Good Mornin to Fed Ex people....:)

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Good Morning Ken, lets go have our conversation over there so no one will see me talking to you.

Good idea...people might wonder why you are talking to the riff-raff...*LOL*

BTW some positive stuff....

The Institute for Supply Management is expected to report a slight improvement in the service sector at 10 a.m. EDT. Investors were pleasantly surprised on Monday as pending home sales and construction spending picked up unexpectedly.

But isn't this hole thread a contradition in terms? This thread was started by someone griping about others griping?

I am all about peace, love, and harmony but it is also our constitutional right to speak our minds and if we are not happy that is when people do the most talking.

An old saying goes (as my pappy used to say) "if you please someone they will tell 2-4 people, if you displease someone they will tell 9-10 people"

So you see its just in the human nature to whine and cry about things.

Wrong!

In fact our membership has been increasing. Since the economy has taken a dive, we have grown faster than at any other time in our 10 year history.

Our community is a mirror to our industry. That is a fact.

eHugs anyone?

Not only that, but I have found, generally speaking, 1000 miles from nowhere is a pretty good spot for freight.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes on attitude.

I am a little deaf, a little blind, a little impotent, and on top of this are two or three abominable infirmities, but nothing destroys my hope. ~Voltaire

Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities - always see them, for they're always there. ~Norman Vincent Peale

Impossible is a word only to be found in the dictionary of fools. ~Napoleon

Is life so wretched? Isn't it rather your hands which are too small, your vision which is muddled? You are the one who must grow up. ~Dag Hammarskjold

People are not disturbed by things, but by the view they take of them. ~Epictetus

Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird will come. ~Chinese Proverb

Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left. ~Hubert Humphrey

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. ~Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan, 1893

If you aren't fired with enthusiasm, you will be fired with enthusiasm. ~Vince Lombardi

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful. ~Buddha

and finally:

So often time it happens, we all live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key. ~The Eagles, "Already Gone"

I try and keep positive.
I used to wake in the morning and think someone will probably go wrong today.

Now I am freed, I wake in the morning knowing without a doubt that many things will definitely go wrong today!

Just remember wherever you go in life, you'll be there.

If at first you don't succeed, maybe parachuting is not for you!
