Associating with white people

So Sterling is banned and fined $2.5M and may be forced to sell his team. He was stupid and said things to someone he apparently trusted that he shouldn't have said and was to someone he shouldn't have trusted.

It makes one wonder what would the MSM and others be saying if (insert any high profile black person's name) had said "It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you're associating with white people. Do you have to?"

What's most bothersome is that degree of pigmentation has anything to do with anything. It doesn't matter which wrapping one chooses. The package contents don't change one bit because of the wrapping.

I ONLY associated with "colored" people, mainly because I have yet to meet any "clear" people.

Among the hysteria whipped up by the MSM over the racist comments by an 80-something year old Jewish guy made to his 30-something year old groupie bimbo, one thing seems to have been overlooked by all the outraged pundits calling for his head on a pike: how did he treat the players on his team?

The Clippers' team payroll totalled $73,594,041, ranked 6th out of 30 NBA teams.

The team's top player - Chris Paul - signed in July 2013 for a contract estimated to be $107,343,478 for five years, with a guarantee in excess of $84 million. The other top three players are guaranteed in excess of $94M, $26M & $22M respectively.

I can't find anything saying any of the Clippers turned down the money because they didn't want to play for an owner that was known to be a jerk. Sorry, but I can't muster any sympathy for these pampered millionaire jocks, most of whom probably can't even read their contracts - they need to shut up and play ball or find another boss that will show them some love.

Regarding Sterling's fellow owners: he's got one of the longest tenures as an NBA owner and they've known what his attitudes have been for a long time. Nonetheless, it seems none of them nor anyone else in the NBA has suggested in the past that he adjust his attitude and keep his racist comments to himself. Could some of them be living in glass houses?

Skin color dosent make a bit of difference, a persons character does however.

Ever notice how the most predudiced people often act just like the people they complain about.

So, you thought a guy like that would have a good woman beside him? Money can't buy everything, lol.

Except it isn't. Remember back when black people had just got their civil rights, and could sit in the front of the bus, and go to school & eat lunch with white people? And how they were, for a time, all about "Black Pride"? Wearing their hair in Afros, instead of straightening it to resemble white hair? Choosing African names [even if they couldn't locate it on a map] for their babies?
'Gay Pride' is like that: a response to no longer trying to be 'like' the people who rule, because there's no way they can. Gays can't change their sexual preferences any more than blacks can change their skin color. And why should they? Because it makes some people uncomfortable? Because some people think it's 'wrong'?

PS: you know what 'White Pride' is called, right?

When I born, I black. When I grow up, I black. When I go in sun, I black. When I scared, I black. When I sick, I black. And, when I die, I still black.
And you white fellows: when you born, you pink. When you grow up, you white. When you go in sun, you red. When you cold, you blue. When you scared, you yellow. When you sick, you green. When you die, you gray.
And you call me colored.

No one knows who wrote it, but it is delightful, I think.

Except it is. Those are both subjects where the opposite either wouldn't see the light of day or it would be excoriated while the original side is lauded. In all likelihood neither side should be given any time or credence.

And if the question was directed specifically to me, no, I didn't figure he had a good woman beside him, especially after hearing what she'd done.

That's so muddled, I can't figure out which side is which. But the last sentence is just mind boggling: if one side hadn't systematically discriminated against the other side for something they didn't ask for and can't change, with no better reason than "because the Bible tells me so", there wouldn't be any sides at all.
When public opinion says you're on the losing side, then you decide "neither side should be given any time or credence"?

And if the question was directed specifically to me, no, I didn't figure he had a good woman beside him, especially after hearing what she'd done.

Yes, it was directed at you - it was you who posted the link about her, correct? As if to say what he did was wrong, but [there's always a 'but', lol] look at the accuser! Like that makes his behavior less odious, somehow.
It doesn't. Even if the rape victim wasn't a virgin, it's still rape if she said 'no'. The character of the accuser doesn't lessen the crime.

That's exactly what it meant. You are the one who added in extra thoughts that weren't there. It confirmed his stupidity in trusting someone who never should have been trusted. For that matter, any 8x year old man with a 3x year old "girlfriend" is a senile idiot but probably rich.

OK, but I'm just wondering: why, given the comments the man made [to a woman who is half black, no less!], would there be any reason to "confirm his stupidity"?
Unless, maybe, you didn't consider his comments proof enough?

Don't know that there was any need to confirm his stupidity, just believe the situation confirms it exists.

I find it odd that people are treating Sterling like he is less than human and a horrible racist based on some out of context comments that were at the worst questionable but yet Gandhi is often quoted, celebrated, and looked up to.
