A liberal's solution apparently.

Armored backpacks? Why not send them to school in full body armor? Little kids cannot protect themselves and no amount of gimmickry will change this fact. There is no substitute for an adult standing ready to defend children.

Even in ancient times, shepherds were made available to keep the lambs safe from wolves.

Maybe not but they taught you the drop and hide under a desk in a nuclear attack....just as foolish...

Same training for tornadoes as well. Also, remember the times when the 'desk drills' were going on in earnest. We were minutes away from a nuke strike, all out war. MOST of those drills were during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

It was kinda good. It was a very scary time for a kid. It made us feel like we were doing something and a feeling of control over something we did not really understand. Maybe it was not as foolish as it seemed. Empowerment works.

Why send them to these "schools" anyway? The only solution I can fathom is pulling them out.
