Solar Panels make sense for Expediters - Ask questions or listen

Is solar power in your future? For the trucking industry this may be a good option, at the very least to assist in reducing the run time of the diesel powered APU. On the broader scope, a solar system can run an HVAC system, keep the batteries charged at full capacity, and run the hotel loads, all without burning any fuel.

The system mounts on the roof of the trailer, cargo box or tractor, adding less than 1/2 inch to the height of the rig. Connecting to the trucks batteries, it charges all the time, even while the truck is running, reducing the load of the trucks alternator, saving fuel and extending the life of the alternator. Even if you have an APU, the solar system can lower run time of that unit, saving fuel/money.
