Aberdeen...also known as Hub City
Aberdeen had a very special place in history when it came to providing comfort and food to troops heading out to fight in World War II. It was the Red Cross Canteen, located in the Milwaukee Railroad Depot at the north end of Aberdeen's Main Street. In the 1940s when trains filled with soldiers heading to war stopped in Aberdeen, those soon-to-be warriors were greeted by volunteers with food, including pheasant sandwiches Those simple acts of kindness and compassion prompted some pheasant-sandwich recipients to return to Aberdeen over the decades to say thanks.

Snowing south of me but not here yet? Trying to think of a good reason to get out of my pajamas and stop drinking coffee and I'm coming up with a blank!
Roof vent pipe repair completed. What was discovered. When pipe vent was installed, no glue or anything was applied, and it simply came apart. Was a little more difficult as the part needing fixing went under attic floor, so had to cut the floor a little also. While here, I had them fix a window that was having problems closing all the way.

I know haha. Now my leave plans got foiled by today's rain and the grass needing to be cut. Should have cut it yesterday when it was nice and sunny
Maybe it will dry up later today, don't really want to cut wet grass, messes up my mulching mower. At least I don't have to worry about the leak anymore

I was at that j one time and those black birds were playing king of the wire. Well one bird thought he would be the top king of the black birds so he landed on top of the transformer and bam all of a sudden the alleged top king black bird came diving down to the ground with feathers going everywhere. Nevertheless that bird didn't know what hit him. About 30 min. later the local power company show d up to turn the power back on. I told them it was the transformer over there where the dead bird lay on the ground. They told me that this happens all the time.
