Was over at the office today getting new QUALLCOM installed . Had to DH 175 miles to get it done . Once done .....waited three hours .....no calls . Even though I go thru there twice a week ....still " ordered " me up to get it done . Different around there these days.
That's pretty funny, but am I the only one who thinks this guy got what he deserved? I mean, we all know that flights are overbooked and if they are no volunteers (who are compensated well) then they pick people at random. There were 4 people picked and the other 3 left without being dragged off. This guy thought the rules didn't apply to him.
Although if I was in charge I would have announced to the entire plane that this person has been bumped off the plane and since he refuses to leave, the plane will sit until he decides to move voluntarily. Instead of having a few security guards against him, turn the entire plane against him.

Can't agree with you. Way too heavy handed. I know this will never happen (
) but imagine a shipper wants to send a shipment at .50 CPM and gets no takers, he goes to .60 CPM, still no takers he has to go to .70 CPM. United started at $400 for someone to leave the plane, no takers, they went to $800 and got 3 off. Why not try $1000 before using force? There was one time I was on a flight home from a work trip and they asked for volunteers, they offered a free round trip voucher for anywhere in the us, and since the next flight wasn't until the next day, a hotel room and dinner. I was going to stand up but I wasn't fast enough.
Sucks to see what happened and the CEO kissing butt but he was asked to leave and he didn't, thought that he was better than everyone else. The only person who did wrong in this situation was the guy who needed to be dragged out like a child.
No different than all the guys running the dually box trucks saying they are under 10k, they think the rules do not apply to them.

Random selection can't be called voluntary. The guy paid for his ticket, the plane wasn't overcrowded by passengers, the overcrowding thing became when united wanted to get rid of four paying customers to make room for their four employees.
