Canada Anyone with chevy 3500?

Hi A/all

I just bought a Chevy 3500, 2005,6l, v8,gas, and wondering what's the best regular maintenance to do, to take care of it.
and is it better to use Synthetic oil, if yes what's the best reasonably priced brand?how many mile can I drive it before changing oil?
Do I need a heat block or do they come with one?

I have a 2006 Chevy with a 6L engine, when I change oil I use Penzoil High Milage oil and a quart of Lucas, the truck has 300,000 miles and I change oil at 7500, still do not use any oil.
