A driver friend said that Nations Express is closing the doors in early June - anyone else hear the rumor?

Come to think of it Cheri, have not seen any of trucks or vans in over a week. Before that talked to some drivers that defined nations all the way and others who say they have not been paid for awhile.

Talked to a Nations guy in Buffalo Saturday, if they are in trouble he seemed oblivious to it. He talked about the pay frequency changing but he was still running fairly well he said considering the economy.

I have a buddy that drives for an owner and he is quite busy with Nations....seems some O/O's panicked when Nations messed up with the pays whilst re-organizing and bailed out believing the rumors of going under.....He IS getting paid regularly now and his owner has said his settlements are now on time.....
Nations has closed some broker houses and brought it in-house. But business as usual....Thats the story I got.

I was talking with a Nations Express driver at the J there in Keene, NC last weekend before taking that NC to LA run and he never mentioned to me that Nations was going under. He too was upset because during that week when Nations did the payroll switch he had some pro's that he still hadn't been paid. all i know. He said that he had been moving but a couple of loads a week.

We have been getting 2-3 decent runs per week with a solo straight truck. Direct deposits are accurate and have been on time. There is some talk of going back to the 2 settlements per month again. I wonder where these rumors originate.

I don't know where they originate, but I know where to find the straight dope - thanks to all who replied.

WELL, THE STARS MUST HAVE ALIGNED JUST RIGHT. I FINALLY GOT PAID FROM NATIONS THIS WEEK ON MY OLDEST OUTSTANDING INVOICE. IT WAS ONLY 217 DAYS OLD. THAT'S RIGHT, 7 MONTHS OLD. AND THEY WONDER WHY I TURN DOWN FREIGHT WHEN THEY'VE CALLED LATELY.

i been driving for nations express almost for 2 years, now i do the same for different company, and i'm very happy with my rates and more happy with insurance/fees. nations express charged me more than $ 350 every 2 weeks, and now fees got even higher,so i was paying more than $ 700 a month etc. Do the math ,i think that's why the got ALL kind of problem, because they charging drivers, costumers, and messing with pay,who want to make $400-500 in 2 weeks, seating at truck stop and pay $350 to them :D:D WELCOME to NATIONS EXPRESS :D:D
