Any Use Of "Black"...Is Racist

Just a couple of weeks ago when we were having our record setting heatwaves, our local electric suppliers were warning the DFW area that the rise in electricity use could result in "Black Outs" if we didn't cut back just a little to conserve energy. (All 9 million of us in this 12 county area were probably running our AC's at FULL Blast!!)

Anyways, it was "Breaking News" on the 6:00 newscast. We have 4 major news channels here. Channel 4 - FOX, 5 is NBC, 8 is ABC, and 11 is CBS. We also have CW33 here (channel 9 on cable) and TXA21 (channel 12 on cable) that has a local news program too.

Anyways, I usually watch FOX4 news (the most local watched news program in N Texas ;) ), but that day it was on Channel 8 - ABC. I didn't bother changing the channel, busy on computer or something, and as they were covering the possible "Black Out", they kept saying "BROWN OUT". I then started paying attention, Brown Out this, Brown Out that, and got to wondering what the hell? Is this a new PC word for "Black Out"??? So, I started flipping through all 6 channels back and forth, all 6 channels were covering TXU's warning about possible rolling outages, and 5 of the 6 channels were calling them "BLACK OUTS", of which is the decades long term for when the power goes out (did New York have a "brown out" in the 70's??), except for our local ABC affiliate. Even at the 10pm newscast, "Black Out" was the term ALL channels were using except channel 8, who stood with their term "Brown Out".

Absolutely ridiculous.................

Anyways, can't stand watching an editted version of Blazing Saddles. Sure, it may be wrong today to say some of the stuff they said back then, but it's just not the same when the old Lady says "Up Yours Sheriff" instead of "Up Yours *****", or when they're all "Burping" instead of "Farting" around the campfire. Know what I mean.

And, another show that wouldn't last in todays PC world is All In The Family. Have yet to see a "Bleeeeped" out episode of that show. They're still running reruns of Archie Bunker as he was back then, but the time will come when Archie will be "bleeeped", or not shown any more in our future due to PC.

The term brownout is a reference to when the rate of electricity is cut down and it is one word that wasn't a typo. It means your lights will be dimmer or your appliances will not work at full capacity. The other issue is if they used brownout as a PC term the hispanics would be mad.

Your not white, You're canadian.

Canadians are whiter than white

Okay so we have the Black Entertainment Television and Black History Month
Can you imagine the uproar if we started White Entertainment Television and Whit History Month?

Yes.."Brown Outs" have been around for years...exactly as Pallud as stated....not a full "Black Out" which means no power at all.

I always wondered why that was. It seems every ethinic faction can be proud of their heritage except WASPs. (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants). It is as though we have something to be ashamed of. I SAY BALONEY to that. If all races are going to be equal, then let Whites have a United White College Fund.. A WHITE Miss America...etc. Let me know how that works out.

HHmmm............OK. Just never heard the term "Brown Out" before then. But, all stations were reporting about possible rolling "Black Outs" except Channel 8. Maybe that's why Channel 8's viewership is so low. They can't seem to get it right as FOX4 always does. :D

like said already . what happened to stick and stones may break your bones but names will never hurt you . why is it that people can forget about the broken bones but they cant forget about the words .

so glad people dont think the same way . because it would be a sad world we live in if they did .

i just hope they finally get ride of the Declaration of Independence, bill of rights ,the Constitution and even the bible , because they are hurting so many people feelings .

i mean some people want the right to bear arms but then they dont believe that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
