getting old is not for the faint of heart. i am 6'2". this fl70 seems a couple inches to short in seat travel back and forth. my right knee is complaining, my hips are complaining and the sit muscles are not happy either. i try to walk the lots to exercise and on long runs i try to walk a rest area but the hurt is stiill there. if i raise the seat then i am cutting off my ability to see ahead and the seat seems to cut into my thighs.

i use a gel seat bottom that has taken some hurt away. i also have a cushion for my lower back. i tried a winged pillow but the contoured seat will not work with it. i don't know if this makes a difference but my truck is a duck in not a walk thru. any suggestions?

do any of the newer frtlinr cabs have more room?

what about other manufacturers cabs?

I know the KW T600s don't have a lot of room if you ask me. Are you getting ready to upgrade trucks? If so I think the Freightliner Columbia is very nice as far as being roomy. Especially for a solo operator. You also may want to think about buying a new seat. You know one of those wide, fancy deals. They cost but they feel good to sit in. My dad got one for his Coronado. He spent over 500 bucks on it, but it is more comfortable than any recliner I've ever sat in. He picked it up at the Freightshaker dealership.

The Freightliner M2 is very roomy. At leat compared to my old Binder 4900.(International)
But then again I have takin about 3 inchs off the middle that helps.

That's one of the reasons that it's a good idea to go to the EO expo when you are concidering buying a new vehicle, you can check out all the brands under one roof.DD.

The International 7500s have alot of room, but I wouldn't recommend them.

The Century has the same layout as the Columbia. I agree... newer seats make a world of difference! I'm 6'4" and drove 11 hours straight once. Not even cramped when I got out... just exhausted. Love it! Love it! Love it!

Totally agree on the new seat - I put a high quality seat in my van, and it made a world of difference. The place where you spend so much of your working life is worth spending the $, IMO, even if it's a LOT of $ :D

Because the truck is junk. It's not made for long runs and heavy loads. It's made for local work, where you might put 30,000 miles a year on it. The engines tend to go around 200-300k, which is WAY too early for a class 7.

When I worked for an agriculture chemical distributor we had a couple we used when we had small orders to deliver. We were close to Pine Bluff,AR. My route went from there to Las Cruces,NM. Any loads that went farther out than Texarkana and that thing stayed at the yard and I took the Century.
