Does anyone know of any Owner Operator companies that will take on a driver with less than or only 6 months experience (that pays decent)? I've been driving for 6 months in February and convinced that I need to be doing my own thing and in my own truck. Searching high and low with no luck!

there are alot of companies out there that will take you on....best way is to call them directly and ask!!! All the companies that advertise on here have their phone numbers listed.

define 'pays decent'.

Thanks, I appreciate the comment and prompt reply.

I know I've contacted over 30-40 different companies and came up with only a couple that would take me but then they had other things about them that wouldn't work. Are there any carriers that I could lease on with and hit load boards and such with only 6 months experience? Or is there a way I can go about taking loads if I don't have my own operating authority or someone to lease with?

Why not wait six months and call her again. From what i hear it's a bad time to jump into this business and it may pickup by summer. Six months really isn't that long
Jan-Mar is always slow

If you only have six months experience, your not ready to become an owner operator, even though you think you are. This isnt rocket science, but there is a need for experience before you buy your first truck.Evidently you went to truck driving school,or ws with a compny that trained you for the six months,if you quit them, you should have stayed. If you did infact quit within 6 months,it doesnt soun like you have the patience to be an owner opp.As you may not know, the grass isnt greener, bottom line on most companies that you will work for is about the same. Now with that said, yoou could get on with an owner as a co-driver,and get the needed experience, and learn the business the right way.I dont mean to drive with another driver but to drive with the owner. Most of the expedite companies, would take you that way

Sorry I'm just now able to respond but been real busy. I would like to ask do you own your own truck (not a lease) or do you have a truck note? I take it by the logo that your pulling with FedEx. How long have you been an O/O?
