Jet Express used to run ads often in Houston. At that time they had company trucks and paid $10.00 dollars an hour.
Dynamex was owner operators. They mostly run local in Dallas. Not sure as to what they pay.

In Toronto, they run same day courier in Mississauga and pay 55%.
They do a lot of airfreight delivery work.
In Cambridge Ont. they run a more tradtional expediter operation.
They have terminals in many places in the US & Canada.

Another company to consider if you want to stay close to your home area is Eagle Global Logistics. I have no idea of their pay plan but I know of several people who have signed on with them and seem to like it OK.

checked them out here in Memphis back in 2001...they only paid
$1.17 per one-way mile.

i wish i had found them sooner than i did
right now i have 3 runs a day and running 950 miles a week
and making better than i did at fedexcc
they run hot shot and price is flexible depends how fast and how
good at horse trading you are as to price per mile
they pay 65% when you go outside your home area you call ahead and
see what they have , and sometimes you get luckly and have all miles
paid, there are runs that go everyday and they set it up as to who's
going to do it

i really don't care to go out of town when i'm able to make same amount of money running local and be home every night
plus price of fuel in hampton roads area is at 1.579 and up

local go to web site and find a place near you,
they are a bit different on how they do things,
