they are out of Pittsburgh and are in need of drivers(car van, truck and even bike). I did a search for them but couldnt find anything here. Does anyone have any input or information on them? Thanks in advance.

i did check it out but they dont mention anything about what they pay per mile. I did call them but havent asked about the $$ issue yet. Still in the very early stages of signing on.just wanted to know if anyone has driven for them and what was their experience like. They do alot of airport shipments so it can be done in your car. Which is good because thats all i can afford presntly.

We've never heard of them, but from their web site they seem to be more closely aligned to courier work than expediting. A search of the forums doesn't reveal any negative or positive comments.

I spent time with them about 8 years ago in Cleveland, I don't recommend them at least in the Cleveland Area

RDC, did you ask the recruiter, or whomever you spoke with at the company, if they can give names of current or past drivers you could talk with? Their response to the question would be an indication of their belief in themselves, at least. Also, seek out their drivers, wherever you can find them, and engage them in conversation, if possible - you'll get a clearer idea from more points of view.

When I was there they Paid 62% for a B Unit. I didn't care for the Short Runs and The Cleveland Office was ran By Kids with Big Egos. Thier Office was at Cleveland Hopkins But it's not there now so I have No Idea where they are if they are still In Cleveland

I would suggest you at least try this. I don't know a thing about this company, so let me give you my logic here.

Worst case scenario would be it didn't work. If it doesn't work out you've lost nothing except for the time you put in. If nothing else, you'll meet people at your pick ups & deliveries that work for other companies & you can talk to them & find out how they like their company.

When asking drivers about other companies, don't bring up money unless they do. Keep it low key, but ya can ask how they're being treated by their company or something like that. People are usually more open if ya ask it like that.

I meet people all the time doing airport freight & there's people in cars who are making more than what I make in my van. They make even more when ya compare their gas milage to mine. Their insurance is lower also.

I rode w/ this company one time back when I was having all those problems w/ my Sprinter. I didn't take it for a few reasons, the main one being they wanted ya there early in the AM & I enjoy 2nd shift work more. Still, I could see plenty of advantages over expediting in a van.

I'd at least give this one a try. You may find this one to be your perfect fit or if not it could very well be a stepping stone to a better company. It'll get ya on that proverbial inside of freight/package delivery rather than on the outside looking in. It's at the least a start in this industry w/out much expense & at best it could be a job you do quite well at. So give it a try.

My suggestion would be to go for it & good luck to ya.

Take care,
Danny

Re: any info on "American Expediting?"

I noticed this thread is over 4 years old, has much changed with this company, I see their placing ads all over looking for drivers and trucks, Cleveland and Columbus especially. Was just wondering if there is anything to be aware of here.

thanks
