Any good advice?

Ten days ago one of my ProMasters got a minor problem. At least at first sight: the ignition key got stuck on "start engine" position. The driver took the vehicle to the nearest Good Year shop, which actually it was the only one open at that late hour on Friday and also the only one open on Saturday. Since then the vehicle is still in shop, they said they had to change the whole column because Chrysler won't sell it piece by piece. The part arrived on Thursday, they replaced the old part with the new one, but the dumb computer don't recognizes the new part and thinks that somebody tries to steal the vehicle. So now they need I don't know what other electronic component that will give "green light" to computer. But so far no part yet. The vehicle stays in shop, the driver is wasting his time waiting and waiting, and I don't know what to do about it. I just cannot believe that a 14 months old vehicle can give us such a hard time. Any advices?

Why not bring it to a dealer that knows what they are doing and has the right equipment? It seems like that should still be under warranty. Is there a reason that it couldn't be moved there before? It seems like they are just running the bill up more because they don't know what they are doing.

Yep, I would put it on the hook and tow it to a dealer that has the equipment for it. This place likely is going to hand you a large bill without ever really doing anything. At 14 months, is it out of warranty?

Yes, unfortunately it's out of warranty... it has over 100k miles. Speaking about a dealer, these guys started working on it already, so anyway I'll get a bill from them, which so far seems to be around 1400...
