Another Panther Lawsuit

I just got off the phone with the nice people at CIS. I was calling to secure insurance for my new van. CIS writes policies through Progressive. I was informed that due to a pending lawsuit, Progressive no longer offers new policies to vehicles leased to Panther. Does anyone have any further info?

It isn't a new lawsuit as it was settled some time ago. If one currently is insured through CIS, it is business as usual whether adding a truck or anything like that. What they are not doing is writing a policy for someone new to Progressive. They are trying to get that resolved is my understanding. So one of those, stay tuned for more information.

Thanks Dave. I would have been a new customer of Progressive. Guess I will deal with insurance through the Cat. I can't believe how difficult i'ts becoming to replace my former van with a new one. I called Panther at 10:30 this morning to talk with Gilby. Driver Relations told me to talk with him first. Of course he was on another call at the time. The very nice D.R. woman sent him an E-mail with my home phone and cell phone numbers and the reason for my call. It is now 18:30 and I haven't heard a meow from him or anyone else at Panther. What a nice warm furry feeling knowing that I'm a valued member of this team. Excuse me while I embrace the stupidity and stick a pencil in my left eye.

After some very brief contemplation before inserting pencil in eye; maybe Panther is sending me a subtle message and I'm too dense to get it. Ouch...F'ing meow, that hurt.

The last I heard they were trying to work something out with Progressive. Which translates into no one knowing anything. The lawsuit I believe was over a wreck and who paid what part of the claim.
