Another GPS question

Well, here goes. I am a true believer in Streets and Trips with GPS on my laptop. Although it doesn't have truck routing, I've survived most routes. I've gotten into the habit of calling the shipper and consignee to get truck routing to their location which I can put into Streets and Trips. I'm so happy working that way, but wanted another option.

At the Truck Show in Dallas, I bought the Teletype Truck GPS. I thought with it having such a smaller footprint than the laptop on my laptop stand, it would be very handy. Unfortunately, it can't navigate very well and is very slow and cumbersome to get a route into it. And, I don't seem to have the option of putting in alternate directions from what it wants me to do. I can't figure out how to add way points to get it to route my way as opposed to its way.

I can make it anywhere in the U.S. without maps. It's just nice to have the detail info for the shipper and consignee.

So, is there a GPS system that will let me route then upload that route to the device and work that way? I don't know the features of what you all might be using.

Sunday night I was listening to a truck driver say how her GPS had caused her to miss an exit and she was now traveling north on I-635 when she should be going south. I had to laugh knowing what I experienced with my Teletype. It's just plain stupid.

Any ideas will help.

I'm actually thinking of putting Copilot Truck on a Pocket PC operating PDA. You just need to make sure it is GPS enabled.
