What makes him a babbling lunatic? Is it his message of lower taxes? His message that government should be small a repersent the people which it is neither?was it his message that Freedom is what the constitution is about and it is wrong for the federal government to take them away. Was it his message that government needs to get out of the way and let small companys do what they do best create jobs?Or was it when he talked about the flat tax and how the federal government wants to much of what hard working americans earn.Because if his message he was given is what makes him a babbling lunatic then most of america is also babbling lunatics,as these things are some of the very things most find wrong with the government today.

One only has to look at where he was at.Cornerstone-Action to see everything he said goes with everything that Cornerstone-Action is about.

Or was it his body language? That you seem to think makes him look like a babbling lunatic.

Oh yeah.....its a great message, not a lot of substance, but a great message. I could go to my American Legion I belong to and hear the same speech from the local drunk. If he wasn't drunk or high, then I suggest he stay away from public speaking gig's as well as future debates.

Hey, if the whole President thing doesn't work out for him, there's always a future in stand-up comedy.

you did not answer the question. What in the video makes him a babbling lunatic? You are the one who is puttung that label on him here,so what is it?Or is it you make a baseless attack because you dont like what you heard?

I think I pretty much spelled it out for ya.

Let me ask you a question. Is this the real Rick Perry?

You have spelled nothing out but your own unfounded attack on a republican that yas what you dont want to hear.

bubster, It wasn't his message, it was the delivery. I want a President that people will laugh with, not laugh at. Does that help?

very poor job at voice over.Im sure you could have found a better one then that.

Thank you Captain Obvious.

I watched the entire video and I didn't see a babbling lunatic. He doesn't appear to be intoxicated, he's not slurring nor is he stumbling or fumbling for words. It looks and sounds like he's feeling comfortable and relaxed, which is what one would expect at a fund raiser of this type and relaxed as opposed to his stiff, confused Algore-esque debating style. If anything, he sounded like many TV evangelists. Infer what you will.

Thank you Captain Obvious.

So the message does not matter. What matters is he sounds good in the way he delivers it good.Funny thing though did not hear anyone laughing at him but with him. Also he got more then one standing ovation.

Who was that other smooth talker that everyone loved so much you know the one that filled people full of hope and change crap?Thats right this guy.

Obama's funniest bloopers! - YouTube

Yep its all about the delivery to hell with the message.

I'm interested to hear from some of our resident Texans who have been watching him for the past 10 years. Is this typical of his "relaxed" delivery when he's in front of a supposedly friendly audience? Are there other videos of him displaying similar behaviour? Inquiring minds want to know.

Look man, the guy is dumber than a box of rocks, period. Like I said, he makes Bush look intelligent, which makes him a perfect candidate for the corporatist GOP.

Like I said also, if he wasn't drunk or high, he should stay away from public speaking gig's as well as the debates. If you or those around you have to come out and say, "I" or "he" wasn't drunk.......that's a problem.

Imagine for a moment President Reagan giving a speech with the same gestures, mannerism's and just plain weird giddiness. It's odd isn't it? But hey, the Teapartiers eat this kind of stuff up. If that was the "real" Rick Perry and he is nominated, God help us. Hugging a bottle of syrup? Really?

I want soooo dearly for the GOP to put up a candidate that can at least give Obama a run for his money, if this is the best they got, then as much as I abhor this woman, she will be correct when she said this:

Ann Coulter: If we don’t run Chris Christie for President, then Romney will win the nomination and we’ll lose in 2012

So did I .... but I did (see a babbling lunatic) .....

As always, it's in the eye of the beholder ....

He doesn't appear to be intoxicated, he's not slurring nor is he stumbling or fumbling for words.
True - but he's just a leetle too animated ...... in a somewhat unnatural way .....

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at his pharmacist's to know what he's takin' ......

It looks and sounds like he's feeling comfortable and relaxed ....
May be a little too comfortable .... ;)

which is what one would expect at a fund raiser of this type and relaxed as opposed to his stiff, confused Algore-esque debating style.
That's a possible explanation .... but it ain't the only one ....

Yesterday (I think it was) I ran across a video clip of a conservative commenter in a panel discussion who was asked about Perry's odd behavior in this incident. He commented that Perry has a bad back and his odd behavior may have been a result of him taking pain medication.

If anything, he sounded like many TV evangelists.
Good point :D

Infer what you will.

If that's 'comfortable & relaxed', I'd like to see they guy when he's excited - no, wait, I don't think I would, at that.
My vote is pharmaceutical enhancement - but hey, if it's ok for bomber pilots.....

Ah...I see but ... isn't he's president, so he has to be a bit smarter than most.

The republicans lost the election, just listen to these idiots and fools that are candidates.

With all do respect, can you help me out on the above comment?

Indeed. This is what I don't understand. You have two competant candidates in Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich, why are they not being hi-lited? Is it because of the Tea Partiers? I mean what gives?

Once again, I'd like to see if there's video of him making speeches, or even informal campaign talks to small groups using a similar style. The media is totally ignoring this deal, and the only reason that seems plausible is they figure he's not a contender any more. However, if he does start to rise in the polls it's a safe bet this video will be all over the place.

From a personal standpoint, I thought he would be one of the top 3-4 candidates since he's a three-term governor of a large state and has a good economic record. But watching this tape makes me cringe - he looks like a contestant from the Gong Show (for those of us old enough to remember) that got "gonged". Instead, it looks like he just got gonged from the Republican primary.

I put Newt into the same category as the rest because he had his chance and it was his leadership that laid the foundation for a lot of what we have today. Paul I discount his seriousness as a candidate not because of his ideas or his passion but because there is an issue with the some (not all) Paulinistas that scare a few of us which then leads me to believe that they are borderline 99% people.
