We always check the oil, tranny, tire pressure etc, but how many times when we are at home having the capability of doing a real good maintenance check do we remember to
CHECK OUR SPARE TIRE PRESSURE, I know I missed it a few times in the past but managed to get in the habit of making it routine task. An no, I did not crawl under it every time, I used a tire thumper to reach up there and give it a good whack. Ever so often I would insure it had 85 to 90 lbs in it. Why so much, well at 90, it could leak down 10 lbs and still be good enough to put on the rear end. If you put 50 in it, it will run on the front end but not enough for the rear end especially if loaded. If I needed it for the front, I could just let some air out. This is if you have a chevy 1 ton, 50 front 80 rear. Other models may or may not be the same.
