I found it funny how they all just left him there once he was away from the car. Amazing to catch something so awesome on tape.

What would have them do, bundle him up and cart him off to the hospital in the backseat of a Prius?

They did the correct thing, in three stages ..... first he was removed from under the vehicle, he was pulled on a straight axis, (so as not to increase any spinal injuries), and they left him "as is" for the paramedics.

Good actions all around.

It was still funny.

I didn't see anything saying whether the guy was dead or alive, but I'm guessing he was dead. I can speak from personal experience that it is a very good thing for the family to know that his body was not burned in the fire. A family member of mine did burn in a vehicle fire. His death would have been a lot easier on the family had we been able to get him out.

He is in the hospital in serious condition.

According to the local news here in Richmond, VA area, the girl who is seen laying on the ground looking under the car made a statement she had seen the guy move his fingers and yelled he is still alive, that's when everyone stepped up to the plate to take action. I am a bit surprised the cops did not appear to be concerned that the car's gas tank would go POOF.

I once picked up the back end of a Geo Metro on our show room floor........I know, I know, show off!

Watching the video, you can see that it was the women who was responsible for getting everyone to help out. She was also the closest to the flames when lifting on one of the attempts.

Those motherly instincts came out even if she isn't a mother.
