Amazing, the differences...

Watched most of the debate tonight. Thought Palin did very well, tho I was yawning at some of the typical rhetoric. I thought Biden did well not to screw up badly, tho I had to chuckle when he called Bosnians 'Bosniacs'. My foul mouth came alive, tho, when he stated obvious lies. Sarah caught him off guard about Obama saying our troops were airbombing villages and killing civilians; tho Biden's years of experience at dodging the hard questions paid off, as he successfully side-stepped this one as well. You could see Biden get visually aggravated about half way thru.

Well... we started watching late, so I rewound the tv and started from the beginning. But I wanted to get to the so-called opinions by the masses of these United States...

CNN: 53-36 Biden
Fox: 82-18 Palin
PMSNBC: can't remember. But since they're irrelevant anyways, I think they were around the same as CNN.

CNN made me want to puke! All they were saying was "It did nothing to change things." Well... if Biden kicked her arse, like your polls claim they did, Biden's victory would've solidified things for Obama, wouldn't they have? If CNN claims something like this meaningless, it's obvious Palin is going to pull a lot more votes for McCain than the pundits want to admit.

To me, it was fun to watch Palin hold her own. And it felt damm good, as well! We watched the woman who will run for president in 4 years, win or lose this November. I'm pleased with what I saw. I don't think she agrees with McCain on a lot of issues, but touts them because she's running with him. I think in 4 years, we'll see the REAL Sarah Palin; and that she will be closer to Reagan and Thatcher in her ideology, than the mask of McCain that covers her today.

Biden... you did well tonight; but you're an obvious politician who got beaten by a hockey mom. And you and Obama were exposed. Now it's up to McCain to expose more. But he doesn't know how to do it. Uggh! Just keep blaming Wall Street greed, without pointing out Congress' ties (and ultimately Obama's) to F&F failing, or the fact that they twisted the arms of the lending companies. Keep giving a pass to your political 'friends', Johnny! You aren't making a friend in me! But Sarah WILL get my vote. :)

Palin did very well in the portion I saw. I missed the beginning. Based on expectations etc. she has to be declared the winner by at least a small margin. Just think, in 4 or 8 years it will be Palin/Clinton running against each other.

I thought she did very well, but she missed several opportunities to slam the democrats for stonewalling regulatory reform on Fannie and Freddie. She could have very easily brought up the congressional hearing that took place in 2004, exposing Maxine Waters and Barney Frank defending the corrupt Franklin Raines who is now an Obama advisor. She glossed over the effort by McCain and other Republicans in 2006 to put more regulatory controls on these institutions. Hopefully, McCain will have the stones to hit Obama with these facts in the debates to come. He also needs to go on the attack more and emphasize Obama's extreme liberal voting record and complete lack of qualifications for the job. The election is his to win, if he will just let Sarah be Sarah and get more agressive himself.

Since victory for Palin was measured by avoiding the deer in the headlight syndrome, she was victorious. If misuse of the English language was the measure, she failed (probably nerves). She pretty well mangled words and phrases. That is directly related to her notes which she kept looking at. She was working off a script which makes debating difficult. They should have let her go free style. No notes. But her handlers feared she would not be able get through without choking. I think she would have done fine
As well, she could not distance herself from Bush to a degree that most Americans could truly distinguish as "maverick". I thought she rocked the first half of the debate, but when it came time to show herself as real VP material, she kind of dropped the ball. She made up some new words, which is very Bushoninan, and gives pause.Once she latched onto one of these new words, she kept using them.Presidential in the Bush era,but not in the future.
Over all, I think it went to Joe on expereince. The results of this election have pretty well been decided, but she made her Daddy proud, and lowered the glass ceiling further for ultimate destruction.Well done. Remeber,Alaska has lots of land, snow, mountains and carribu, but only 300,000 people.Does this matter? Unfornunatly it may in to those living in the lower 48.

There's certainly nothing wrong with notes during a debate. During my freshman year of high school my partner and I used notes. We won 83% of our debates, many against upper classman teams. I won the best speaker award in 64% of my debates. We knew our material but had our notecards to be sure we got quotes in correct order and exactly quoted what had been said. It was fun but a LOT of work.

Ya better give them folks over there at the Census Bureau a holler and give 'em a heads up ..... they seem to think there's almost 700,000 folks living up there .....

Ever since the Kennedy-Nixon debates, no one goes into a televised debate unprepared and unrehearsed. These debates are performances, plain and simple. Best Actor wins.

Your are very presumptious. You have no clue what America thinks. All you know is what the media wants you to know/think. It is a very tight race at the moment. Lots can happen in the next month to tip the scales one way or another. Plus, on election day there will be some who question their earlier beliefs. Can I really vote for new guy? Can I really vote for another Republican? Can I really vote for a guy who is half black? Can I really vote for an old man?

Dont get me wrong, im not being racial or biased in anyway. I am just saying there will be those who turn the tables and generally invalidate any poll ever taken. Not that I put a lot of stock in polls anyway. Unless its a brass pole! ha ha ha

I reLIED on a REPUBLICAN for the population of Alaska,I have since corrected him in no uncertain terms in front of my office (he set me up)!!

Half black, half Jew boy(me) half Japanese, my nephews (Jewps) half gay, half straight, half red,we are all half something if we "half" a mother and a father. What Americans "half "in common is being FED up. And not "half" fed up,100% fed up!!!!! They will vote their wallets and not half way. That's a problem for John and Sara.

If Bush considered his second term a "mandate" (in fact he squeaked out a win in Ohio, still in dispute)this thing may be a run away train by comparison. Just a prediction. No need to
unleash the pit bulls from hell yet.You may need them in a few weeks however,so keep them hungry and angry.

I will vote my wallet too. That is why I never vote for tax and spend liberals like Obama. If you think Obama is really for "the people"...I want what your smoking. This 250k tax thing is campaign crap! It may start that way, but once Obumer realizes that its us working people that drive the country...he will dip into our wallets too.

Did you watch the first debate with Obama and McCain? Obama was asked what programs he would be willing to let go if he couldnt afford it. He practically stumbled all over himself. He will not exercise any kind of budget restraint. He will dip into your pocket and mine. So...I will vote McCain since he is not for higher taxes and bigger government.

Don't give it to him, don't give it to him, don't give it to him! If you do, then he'll think Obama is really for the people too, and then he'll vote for Obama. Don't give it to him! I beg you!

Really, though, we can vote for a tax and spend liberal like Obama, or a spend and tax republican like McCain. Flip that coin. When was the last time that government got smaller, regardless of who was in office?

People have found out they can vote themselves goodies. Government will NEVER get smaller until there's a new government. The majority of us are brainwashed.
