Bill Clinton? Father of the year? In the same sentence? How SICK is that? John Edwards? A true slap in the face of every REAL father out there. This wacko bunch should be ashamed. Why not Andrea Yates for "Mother of the Year"? There is a REAL disconnect out there about what parents SHOULD be and what many are.

[h=1]Bill Clinton Named Father of the Year—Does He Deserve It?[/h]

Former President Bill Clinton was just named top-notch dad by The National Father's Day Council, a not-for-profit organization that celebrates the observance of Father's Day and Mother's Day. In a recent press release, National Father's Day Committee Chairman Dan Orwig congratulated Clinton for his "profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations." Clinton will be honored at The 72nd Annual Father of the Year Awards taking place on June 11 in New York, to benefit Save The Children.

Past honorees include Shaquille O'Neal in 2012 and Hulk Hogan and Former Senator John Edwards in 2007.

And while Chelsea Clinton was understandably psyched, the Twitterverse blew up with disapproving digs at the former President's extramarital activities from the 90s. Here are some choice Tweets:

Eddie Scary: Hearing that he was named "Father of the Year," Bill Clinton fondly recalled all those times he asked: "Who's your daddy?"

Tom Jurman: Bill Clinton named Father of the Year. No doubt Monica Lewinsky's father applauds the recognition.

Phil Kerpen: Adulterers everywhere are heartened by Bill Clinton's "Father of the Year" honor.

It's all subjective anyway. A social networking organization Mingling Moms awarded Dina Lohan this mother of the year award in 2008. So, there's that!

They mention the reasons he was given the title but none had to do with being a good father.

The verb "father" and Bill Clinton cannot be used in the same sentence. It is just disgusting.

Consider that the National Father's Day Council is a fund raising organization then note that the Chairman is thanking Clinton for his generosity. Follow the $ kids.
This is not about fathering.

It's also not about his record as a father or husband in years past, but of the past year. By all accounts he's been a pretty good father these past 12 months.

I'm still anxiously awaiting the day when a rabbi is named Father of the Year.

Just like Comrade Obama's Nobel Prize, not even close to being deserved, but a way to give an award and/or money.

The time for "Slick Willie" to be a "Father" is mostly past. He is a disgusting pig and ANY organization who would "honor" him is not worth belonging too. Only scuz honors scuz.
