Hello again all. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of All Types Expediting. I was thinking of putting a truck on with them. Thanks for any info.

I have talked to this company, and I have talked to other drivers that have dealt with them. When I talked to them, I had called and left a message, and about 4 days later, I got a call at 10 pm. There were somethings that really bothered me. I was told that a driver could only drive a total of 550 miles per day. When I asked about this, I was told no matter what the state speed limits are, the federal limit is 55 mph, so don't plan on anything over the 550 miles.
I think the thing that helped me with my choice was they use to advertise on this site. They are no longer here. The number one site for expediting, why aren't they here?

When I first began researching they were among many. They didn't make the first cut. I can't remember the specifics now, just that they didn't earn additional research and follow up with me. Good luck.

I would clearly do my research before signing on with this carrier. While I know very little about them, I have yet to see any positive feedback from their drivers. As mentioned, read previous posts as there are more verifiable reports regarding other carriers.

After reading the numerous complaints about this company, I would have thought there would be a complaint or more filed against them with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I checked and found not one instance of any complaint. The BBB (http://www.bbb.org) is the first place I go before doing any business with a company I have not done business with previously. Even then, for larger purchases, I always make a quick double-check to make sure things haven't changed. The BBB does a good job, in most instances, in investigating complaints and then posting the conclusions of their investigations. The following is an example of one of their case files for a company.

---------------

<following is an actual case file, name of company withheld>

These complaints concerned:

5 Selling Practices,
1 Service / Repairs,
1 Warranty / Guarantee,
3 Product Quality,
1 Refund Promised, and
2 Customer Service.

They were closed as:

2 Resolved,
4 Assumed Resolved,
1 Unresolved,
2 Administratively Judged Resolved, and
4 No Response.

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaints. The company has resolved some complaints presented by the Bureau, however, the company did not respond to other complaints.

It is then up to you to research further if you decide to deal with the company. At least you have a heads-up that they may require an extra degree of caution before doing any major business with the company.

I don't rely on BBB . It's my understanding they only keep files on businesses belonging to their organization . Once a complaint is resolved it goes away . I can't understand how All Types is still in business though . It looks like someone would have reported them to the DOT . A DOT investigation would surely get them shut down and very likely behind bars .

<following from the BBB website FAQ>

Doesn't the BBB report only on its members?

No. BBBs issue reports on members and non-members alike. BBBs, which as a matter of policy do not endorse or recommend any company, product or service, apply the same standards to reporting on companies, regardless of their BBB membership. BBB reports may, however, note the fact of a company's membership in the BBB.
Because BBB members must qualify for membership by adhering to certain standards, a company with a bad report will be disqualified for membership. However, this does NOT mean that a company that is not a member has a bad report or would not qualify for membership.
