All those cross's on the sides of the highway

There is another post on here regarding life changing events or seeing a death on the road. We pass these monuments by loved ones daily if not hourly.

Everyone of these means not so much that someone was killed there, but that a family is in deep, deep pain. Thats what I think as I pass them, someones daughter, son, husband, father, mother, best friend. These are the ones I feel for and wonder or hope that it was a single car accident with out the use of alchol or drugs.

Just a thought that goes thru my mind as I pass these and also hope that the heeling process will be speedy for the family.

We listen on the CB how much Bears are hated, I look at these Bears in a different light, they give speeding tickets because we all know your chances of dying or having an accident 20 mph over the speed limit is increased by how much? I know it scares the crap out of me when a car flies by driving in a wreckless manner. Drive safe, Drive smart out there.

I have a question. Speaking of signs of past accidents. Down In Kentucky on I-71 there is a sign that says "Site of a Fatel Bus Crash" and if gives the date. Can anyone tell me what happened there? Being that im only 21- I never heard anything about it. Kind of freaks me out every time i see the sign. THanks

That was a Drunk Driver going the wrong way. He hit a Church Bus coming back from Kings Island. The Bus Exploded.Killing 27 of the 34 People on the Bus.I believe the Drunk Driver was sentenced to life.I did some research on this and found out the drunk driver got 16 years and was released after 9 years and 11 months in 1999 he now lives about 27 miles from the accident scene.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe he was arrested countless times for DWI prior to that bus wreck.
Tragic to say the least.
I am surprised he is out of jail?

Does anybody know if the Schoolbus tragity on I71 in Ky accoured on the northbound or the southbound. Signs are on both sides as reminders.

I remember at the time the media reported that a "TRUCK"collided with a school bus. Only much later did we find out it was a "pickup".

I used to wonder how come people could get so many DUIs, and why they were able to keep driving drunk, and I finally decided that maybe it's the only "crime" that the police, judges, and politicians could imagine themselves committing? And they wouldn't want to be judged too harshly for just "having a few" before driving home, right? I really can't figure any other reason to account for the number of people who are on their 10th or12th (I think I remember one guy who had 17!) DUI.
