Airtabs

Anybody else besides Turtle would like to get feed back from more people in cargo vans/sprinters and straight trucks. I have not seen anyone running down the highway with airtabs installed. Just wondering

I have airtabs on my cutaway van. I don't really think they affect my gas mileage that much. I do think they they help the van to hold the road a little better in the wind though.

Do an EO search using the word "airtabs". You will find several threads on the subject.

I installed my airtabs with magnetic sheets. It's easier to move them around while I experiment with their arrangement. I haven't seen a noticeable difference in mileage or handling, but my van has odd aerodynamics.

I have them on my Sprinter, a slight increase in fuel mileage (less than 1mpg) but the big payback has been in stability. I had a problem with my right rear tire wearing from the van being pitched sideways all the time (bigger things passing me) and with the AirTabs it has slowed that down significantly.

Only complaint I have is they are made with too thin of plastic stock. I have probably a dozen that have been cracked or split along the high points from low limbs. Otherwise, thumbs up, they do everything they say, stability in cross winds, .4-.5 mpg increase, less dirt on back doors.
