Aftermarket seats in van?

Hello all, first post. I first found this forum years ago while searching for info on Sprinters. I've visited many times since when looking for various information on trucks or vans, but am finally registering.

I started a driving route in my Dodge van (old style--not a Sprinter) that has me at the wheel for about ten hours a night. The seats are already bothering me (a week into it) and I'm looking for options.

What have others done? A premium automotive seat on some adapters? Bus seats? Commercial truck seats with the bases bolted to the floor?

Thanks.

I got the seat cushion and the full back.

They can have my Oregon Aero Softseat when they pry it from my cold, dead, well, you know. :D

That works for guns but in this case wouldn't it be when they pry your cold, dead you know what out of it.

Thanks all for the recommendation. I'll order one up and try it out.

I'd still be interested in hearing any ideas or experiences for replacement seats, though as mine are pretty well worn out.

cd, aileron and turtle....what thickness did you all get?

did height and weight have a determination in what you bought?

Weight isn't an issue, either for the seat or the driver. When you read the Web site it talks about getting different thicknesses based on how high it will make you sit in the seat. But they're talking about a pilot seat in an airplane, which generally isn't adjustable. Van seats are, usually forward and rearward as well as up and down, so the thickness of the seat cushion doesn't matter in that regard.

I initially got the 2" seat bottom and the short back (the lumbar support), and quickly realized that, at least with me and a Sprinter seat, I needed the full back cushion (which comes with its own lumbar support panel). So, I've got the full 2" seat and the full back, which is also 2" (and an extra lumbar short back). The half inch or the one inch will certainly give you plenty of support, but I went with all the support I could get (so maybe weight is an issue, as I'm 275 pounds :D ).

But I've slept on 1 and 2 inch memory foam mattresses, and I like the 3 and 4 inch mattress toppers better, which is why I went with the thicker 2" seat cushion.

I bought the thickest (2" I think) and full back support.

The only thing I don't like about them is, in the winter when you start driving, it feels like you just sat down on a concrete slab. It is that hard, but it gets warm and soft pretty soon.

Pb: when I started expediting, it was in a Dodge cargo van, and when the armrest broke, I was glad for the excuse to buy a new seat, lol. [Didn't know about the Oregon, which I now have in the truck].
I got a premium seat from somewhere in Indiana - don't remember zactly where, [but it's the van conversion capital of the country], just remember they had a 'bargain basement' section, and it was a good deal. Particularly since I didn't pay for shipping, but picked it up when I got to Indiana - installation is fairly simple to have done, not too much for the labor charge if you pay to have it done.
I felt a lot better with that seat, absolutely.
