Affordable care, yeah right

Got an email today reminding me there's one month left to enroll in this lunacy. Out of curiosity I tested the affordable component. For a household size of 1 in Texas you have to earn less than $3,000 for it to say you might be eligible for reduced rates. Might, not will be. And that's not $3,000 per month, that's $3,000 per year!

So onward into the abyss. For a 56 year old male the very lowest offering is $306 per month premium when you've told them your gross income is $250 per month. Affordable. Yeah, right.

Of course it has to be that insanely high to cover my birth control, my mammograms, my pap smears, my abortion services and all my other female expenses which make women's health insurance higher than men's since the same geniuses who made it affordable made it identical for both genders.

What a joke and the biggest jokes of all are the blind jokes who voted for him both times with their feel good make a statement thrown away votes.

The 13th Amendment was passed in 1865, when the Republican Party was barely 10 years old. The 14th Amendment was passed in 1866, and the Republican Party of then was not the Republican Party of now. One big difference: they were for high wages for workers, and high tariffs to protect them. They were also for "free land" granted to settlers by the government - would they approve of that today, you think?
What became the 18th Amendment [when Prohibition was repealed] was passed in 1919 - still comparing apples to oranges with the Republican Party of today.

Of course the republican party of that time period was different. Why is that because it doesn't fall in line with what democrats want people to think of the republican party. Just like Lincoln was a republican but you ask a liberal and he wasn't a true republican. Same thing with MLK JR.
Democrats want people to think republicans are a bunch of old white racist men who are greedy and want dirty air and dirty water. But they really don't want people to find out the truth which is most democrats are really just communist in disguise.

Both parties suck. Both are far to the left of the Constitution and both need to be abolished. Other then that they are as useless as teats on a male frog.

There's some good ones like Rand Paul, Cruz, Lee,Sessions, and a few more. Maybe one on the Dem side, but I can't think of one at the moment. Other than that,Layouts right.

I don't know if I'd go as far as good.. adequate maybe.. not total failures certainly.. but good may be giving too much credit.

I pay to see the HC proposal Bush and the Repubs had before Obama got elected the first time....the Repubs version of HC would be interesting....

Only a combination of two three things will lower health care costs. 1. GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two. Outlaw health insurance. Three. Eliminate bogus law suits.

Till those things are done, nothing is going to change. Costs will continue to rise and freedoms will be lost.

Amen, government needs to let the free market run with healthcare. People also should be able to take their healthcare across state lines.

Getting government out INCLUDES state and local governments. NO government mandates and outlaw insurance.

You think Democrats want people to think Republicans are a bunch of old white racist men who are greedy and want dirty air and dirty water? [You forgot: patronize women!]
I think those who see Republicans as guilty of those personality traits are those who watch what they [politicians] do, not just what they say. If you believe the Democrats are the ones who do that, it's your opinion, not mine.
I'd like very much for people to find out the truth - but if you believe it's that Democrats are communists in disguise, you'll be disappointed.
PS: you can parrot the rightwing talking points, but you have a lot to learn about Communists. And the history of the US, too.

Both parties are the same. Thinking people don't belong to either one. I hate this clichet' but it's true: Both Republicans and Democrats are bought and paid for by special interests. This will never stop. It was cemented into perpetuity when the Supreme Court determined that campaign contributions cannot be limited because that would be infringing on free speech. The special interests can now open the spigots and buy whatever legislation they want from either or both parties. Until a serious grass roots movement gets underway to combat this shady practice we are subject being bought and sold ourselves if we subscribe to one side or the other. It will take some big picture thinking.

Not that much of a switch. Welfare, class warfare, are just another form of racism. The Demoncrats have always been racist. Nothing has changed.

If that isn't scary enough [and it is!] there's ALEC, writing boilerplate legislation, no studying issues needed - like fast food, order, and it's ready in minutes.
Except legislators don't even have to order, they'll deliver it 'on spec'.

Maybe I do have a lot to learn but in the meantime while I'm (parroting the right wing) I will hold on to my guns, bible and religion. I've learned plenty about communism!
